I haven't tried any other games. The only Xbox One X enhanced games I'm currently in possession of are Infinite Warfare, Gears of War 4, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Slime Rancher, and Titanfall 2 for the XO side and Fallout 3, Gears of War 3, and Mirror's Edge for the 360 BC side.
does cod ww2 show up as an enhanced title? I just got the x but cod is not showing as enchanted where as gears 4, and rise of the tomb raider are showing as a enhanced in the games and app screen

Yeah, Call of Duty WW2 doesn't show up as Enhanced. I was searching around trying to find out if it was updated yet, and there's conflicting user reports but nothing from Activision on it.

Anyone try out assassins creed yet? I’m at 97% downloaded but not update yet. I wasn’t aware I need to click “4K updates”

Much smoother, better graphical fidelity, and I was getting thrown into matches before anyone else.

Microsoft has confirmed WW2 is an Xbox One X enhanced title, but a glitch is currently preventing it from showing up as such in My Games and Apps. If you have the 54.1GB version of the game, you have the X enhancements downloaded. The 45.9GB version does not have the X enhancements.

Major Nelson has a list of the games that are currently enhanced: https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-x-enhanced/

There are some games like WWE 2K18 that have been enhanced but were not listed previously: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbo...-enhanced-list

I picked up my Project Scorpio edition last night at my local Best Buy. They love me there -- they put aside a launch swag bag for me as well -- a cute little Xbox One X travel bag with a themed lanyard and, wait for it.....Xbox One X socks! Yup.

My friend wanted to play Destiny 2 on the PS4 so I have to wait until tonight to set it up. Looking forward to trying it out (even though I currently only have an HDTV and not a 4K model in the man-cave).

What? no bracelet?

I picked the socks, the first like 6 or so people picking up in front of me didn't even get offered anything... the people on the pre-order pickup side forgot to offer it...

I didn't get offered anything. Sons of bitches.

I played some Deadly Premonition last night because Wolfenstein II had a 5.5gb update and Quantum Break had like 65gb. The future is now.

Anyone think there is a chance of BB.com selling more Scorpio editions? I want the reward points.

If not, I guess I'll have to order from WM.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I bought this headset yesterday:

They do sound pretty damn good, I must say, even knowing that it's kind of a "fake" Dolby Atmos (it appears to use some proprietary algorithm that requires a Dolby Atmos license instead of multiple actual speakers).
I listened to a few Atmos-enabled videos, and that Insects app, and it was pretty cool, but not as amazing as an actual Atmos home theatre, I'm sure. It really just feels like enhanced surround. Had I kept my job (and house) back home, I'd have probably upgraded to a real Atmos setup by now, but where I'm at, that's not even remotely an option.

Anyway... the headset is super comfortable and sounds pretty good. Apparently it'll plug into my PS4, too, but with that it'll only act as a "basic" headset, whatever that means. But it's nice to have a good quality headset for nighttime gaming on both systems. I wonder if my Switch will recognize it, too... hmm...

Do any of y'all use headsets?

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Sorry if this was covered already, but I didn't see it :

If I want to have non-4K enhancements to my games on an XBX, do I need to download the 4K patches or not? I remember reading that some games will have additional enhancements regarding frame rate, detail enhancement and other performance improvements without doing 4K, but I didn't know if that was included in the 4K patch or not.

The XB1X downloads the 4K textures, which are optional downloads on XB1 and XB1S, automatically, and this can't be turned off. So you're getting the larger 4K version of a game on the XB1X whether you want it or not.

The bigger textures still may look better on a 1080p set, especially with supersampling.

Does it work on a PC? I'm in need of headphones that work with my PC. If they work on Xbox or PS that would be gravy.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Yes, but I think it has to be Windows 10. The package includes a redemption code for the Dolby Access/Atmos app. The app is Xbox/Win10, so you just have to redeem it using your MS account.

I haven't plugged it into my PC yet, though. I'll give it a shot tonight. My understanding is, without the app, it won't do Atmos processing, but it'll still do everything else the headset is designed for. I could be wrong.

Well, I mean it says "Xbox & Windows" on the green banner on the top of the box....

But if there's any more doubt, the specs say it connects to PC:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/produc...lx#fndtn-specs
CONNECTS TO

PC: Yes
Xbox One: Yes

Regarding XB1X gaming on a 1080p TV, I found this comparison of performance between an XB1X and XB1S at 1080p:

For those of us that use Bing Rewards, the "Hot Deal" offer on Microsoft digital gift cards are up. 3600 points for $5, or 7000 points for $10.

I'm torn on buying it. I'm super excited to play 4K games on my TV but:

1) Really don't want to support the model of buying a new 'updated' console every 2-3 years.
2) It's not like we have a lot of games worth the current $500 price point.

They ended up sending me a free Stealth 700 a few weeks later in exchange for feedback on firmware updates. The idea of a truly wireless headset for the Xbox One excites me, but I don’t think the hardware is entirely all there yet. Turtle Beach has definitely improved the headset via firmware updates, but I don’t know if I can justify the $150 SRP if someone were to ask me about them. I don’t give a shit about the Bluetooth functionality as I already own two pairs of Beats (Studio Wireless, Powerbeats2) and the Jaybird X3.

1. It’s been four years since the launch of the original Xbox One and I feel the $499 SRP is justified based upon...
  1. Despite using the same CPU architecture, they did up the clock speed.
  2. The change from DDR3 to GDDR5 alongside the jump from 8GB to 12GB (and increased bandwidth). The Xbox One had a GPU capable of 1.2 teraflops and we’re now at 6 for the Xbox One X.
  3. Liquid cooling system.
  4. 1TB is now the standard alongside the 8GB of flash storage on board for the OS (the 8GB of flash storage was one of the upgrades made to the Xbox One S).
  5. 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player (another feature also included in the Xbox One S).
  6. The added benefit of original Xbox and Xbox 360 games being Xbox One X enhanced.
... and of course, many other changes under the hood. The only reason I had an Xbox One S in the first place was due to the fact I won it in a contest from Microsoft. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve never upgraded to the S. I just unloaded my OG Xbox One on Decluttr for $112 after getting zero bites from Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace just to get rid of it, so at least it brought some of my overhead cost for the X down. And for now, the S will remain in my loft until the next console or if I somehow win a X or get one on the cheap.

Unlike the PS4 Pro (which felt like the PS4 1.5), this seems almost like an entirely new console especially for the fact this bitch can do 4K/60fps on the reg. I’m okay if we get these type of substantial upgrades every 3-4 years. It’s no different than PC gamers upgrading their CPU and GPU every few years.

A new console with new games every 3-4 years with games designed specifically for that system. I could live with that. All xbox games now are going to be designed to work on all three consoles.

The Xbox 1 launched Nov 22, 2013. In less than 4 years we have had three separate MS consoles and two PS consoles, not to mention the VR unit! Who wants to buy five consoles in that short of time frame? To boot, the Xbox library has not really been killing it with exclusives, and they know it. That's why they started developing new studios this week and are focusing on backwards comparability.

Who the fuck buys every single revision of every console?

If you don't like the games on the Xbox, then go play the games on the system you do like.

I know some people really hate the idea of mid-generation refreshes, but I'm not sure how a brand new console 3-4 years would be any better since it leaves people who bought the previous console in the dust in just a few years. I like the idea of a generational upgrade that is optional while keeping compatibility since it gives consumers more options without completely screwing over early adopters.

Also, are you counting the Xbox One S as an additional console? That seems weird, even though they added the UHD player and some small performance changes. That would be like counting the "slim" PS4 as a new console as well to me.

Everyone's use cases are going to be different obviously, but for me I think the X is a nice upgrade for anyone with a 4K TV and HDR. I don't think it's worth it for anyone still on a 1080P TV though at that price. For me, the improved performance in old games, even unpatched ones, is a big benefit as well as the UHD player.
