Fuck that's a good price, but will wait for Scorpio, I think. The S would do nothing for me since I'm not UHD just yet...

Not a huge deal, but why does Microsoft Store process payment almost 10 days before actual game release?
I bought Bulletstorm some time ago and payment was processed already. Shouldn't it be on release date if digital?

Not if you read the terms they display when you are pre-ordering...

Rome is a fun game but not much challenge until the final boss. And by then I was just ready for it to be over.

I just want to know how much that sucker is going to cost. Since there have been XB1 slim bundles going as low as $200, I can't see this thing coming out at more than $400.

From everything they've said there is no way this thing is under 400. It's not meant for your average gamer that's what the slim is for it's for the same people who spend big money on a new graphics card for their PC.

How is it different, in any marketing way, from the PS4 Pro?

PS4 Pro wasn't as big a leap, although it came out earlier. The Pro really seems like Sony needed an upgrade for PSVR and wanted to be able to claim "4K!" with it.
The Scorpio seems beefier, and thus could be even more expensive than the Pro.

But MS is behind Sony in console sales, by something like 50%. I don't think having a system that is going to play the exact same games for more than twice as much would help.

It's not and I don't think Sony expects the Pro to be their lead selling platform either.
The Scorpio though according to all reports is supposed to be way more powerful then the Pro so for it to be even the same price seems unlikely.

People spend hundreds to thousands on gaming PC setups that play "the exact same games" as cheaper PCs, and sometimes even consoles, so the idea that there's a niche out there willing to pay more the play the same game but at a higher resolution/quality is pretty established.

But that's just it, at that point they would buy a PC, not a closed platform. You buy a $200 to $300 console because there isn't a PC in that price range that is going to play those types of games (plus console exclusives).
I still think they should have exclusive games for the Scorpio. Are you going to piss some people off? Sure. But at least you could have some console exclusives that can really show off the power if it's there.

To what end? It's a bit like saying you think there should be PC games exclusive to the GeForce GTX 1080. Why limit to one (at least initially) small platform when it's relatively easy to get a game to run on both with just some graphical tweaks?
Plus, I really doubt developers will want to make games exclusive to only a minor subsection of XB1 users. I mean, even when the XB1 was released, for a while the AAA titles still got separate 360 releases, because there was still a large market for it.
Maybe for the console after Scorpio, MS may allow titles that work on both Scorpio and post-Scorpio, but not on original or S, similar in the way that some iOS apps drop support for older iPhones/iOS versions. But I don't see a reason at this moment to start excluding games from original XB1 owners.

There is also no guarantee that all games are going to run at true 4K/60 fps. The only thing they've shown was that Forza demo, and obviously all of the Forza games look fantastic.
