You'll probably get a better price selling it to someone you know, but Best Buy's trade-in program is pretty nice. That's what I did with my launch PS4 after getting a PS4 Pro. I think I got around $120 when it was all said and done.

I think the most you'll get for an Xbox One OG is about $50. Better off giving it to someone. I don't think I'd even bother OfferUp/LetGo/Craigslist for something like that with the prices they are going for.

My original Xbox One is just sitting around for now, but when I move to a new house in a few months it'll probably just serve as a Blu-ray player, streaming machine, and backup system.

Ha! Can't say I blame you. I'm not sure why there's such a price disparity.

I gave my launch XB1 to my father (my kid brother already had one). The optical drive on mine had more or less died, but I thought my father might have fun goofing around with a digital copy of Forza or something. I "gave" my S to my wife once I got an X to feed her Overwatch (and, to a lesser extent, Forza) obsession. She didn't want my extra PS4.

As things turned out, almost everyone in my family has an Xbox One (kid sister in AZ, kid brother here, my father, my sister-in-law and her family, my father-in-law, my mother-in-law and her husband), and no one has a PS4 but me. At least there's no confusion about what platform to choose when getting someone a game!

Anyone know where I could get an Xbox one to Xbox one s Kinect sensor? Looks like Microsoft discontinued them. So that leads eBay sellers to put them up for $300+. Nobody seems to have them. When I eventually upgrade my one s to an x, I want to give the s to my kids. They still use Kinect, so I need the adapter. I didn't have the foresight to get one of the free ones MS was offering a year or so ago.

If anyone sees one locally, I'm willing to pay the price for it and a little extra for troubles as long as the price is reasonable.

Yeah, the thing that made me wary of that site is that the availability doesn't say "in stock," but "Usually leaves warehouse in 1 - 4 full bus. days." Based on my experience, that phrasing is often used when it's a third party that orders on-demand from suppliers, and since the adapter is out of stock everywhere, Axomall may ultimately be unable to fulfill the order.

Figured as much but I thought I'd post it, just in case it was legit. Crazy thing is, people are actually bidding $100+ for them on ebay. Never knew there was any demand left for anything Kinect related.

I had no idea either. Looks like I might be getting Xbox one X sooner than anticipated.

Edit: yeah, fuck it. I'm doing it. I talked to my son who said they never play the Kinect on Xbox One, only Xbox 360. So, I'll keep looking for an adapter so we can continue to use it, but it won't be a priority. The offer still stands, though. If anyone comes across one at a reasonable price (less than $50) at a local shop, I will pay you for it and some extra for your troubles. Just make sure you check with me first before you pull the trigger on it.

So I did a little more looking too. Amazon is also doing reasonable trade ins right now. You can lock in the AC Unity bundle for $112.83 (which happens to be the version I have) and you get the gift card instantly. Since I still have the box and everything, I may actually go that route just so I'm not stuck with a $130 Gamestop gift card. It would literally take me forever to use that thing since I only go there a few times a year for certain sales.

Alright, this is why I hate Gamestop. So I buzzed them to see what all I would to bring in if I decided to do the trade in and they said the $50 bonus is only if you are trading towards another console. I just got done reading it again and no where in there does it say anything about the bonus only valid in that situation.

Picked one up. The people at the Gamestop were like "holy crap, you are getting how much for an Xbox One original?"

I forgot to bring an HDMI cable, so they were gonna charge me the $12.99 for one (I didn't want to drive back home), until we realized that we could just take the one out of the console's box. I didn't need it.

Also, I had to explain the difference between 4k and HDR to the two employees and about the high speed/certified premium HDMI cables. They were younger adults, probably in their early 20's, but come on people. You need to know this shit if you are trying to sell people on it.

Nothing's been announced, but they don't tend to announce a title ahead of time, unless it's a pre-order bonus. So it could be tomorrow, or it could be 5 years from now, or never.

The BC team apparently took December off, or at least didn't release any BC titles.

I ended up getting the Gamestop trade in to work last night. The cool thing is you don't have to pick out their gift cards. So I ended up walking out with gift cards from Starbucks, Home Depot, Buffalo Wild Wings and a few others. Overall a pretty good experience, which was shocking since it was Gamestop

Yep. They even fucked up somehow and gave me an extra $25 for the controller. When he was doing it at the time, I thought they just rang it up separate, but my final trade in price with everything was $155. So I guess somehow he thought I had two controllers or something.

I had no idea on that, so it was a pleasant surprise. I think this is the first thing I've ever traded with them.

Most importantly, it has the textured grips on the back. $75 retail is a bit much, but it comes with some DLC for Sea of Thieves. I wonder if the directions on the compass are raised or just a part of the paint job. It'd be cool if they were raised.

Doesn't sound like a really great deal. You're spending $25 for 6 months whereas the regular price for 1 year is $60.

and the regular price of $25 for only 3 months is much more expensive if you base it on a 12 month period.
