I do like the ability to shorten the trigger travel for FPS games. That is nice. But even then I think they blew it because the triggers are still plastic and not metal.
The changeable thumbsticks are a cool idea in theory but I only ever use the standard ones. Thought neither of the other ones (or the saucer-like D pad option) were anywhere near as comfortable.
Though since you save $50 with purchase, you should certainly take advantage of the deal. If you don't like it, you can return it.

All the One X reviews have me excited to get mine at Best Buy tomorrow night. The improvements to existing and BC games seem pretty great for some games, and i'm looking forward to the enhancements in some of the recent games. Was debating getting a new video card for my PC, but this will hold me over instead.

I'm gonna stick with my X (Scorpio) pre-order and pick it up tomorrow night or Tuesday at Best Buy.
I see they're offering a $50 discount with the purchase of an Elite controller at the same time. I'm interested in that.
Is the general consensus that it's still the best controller available and markedly better than the pack-in models?

Does the elite controller last? Because since the Xbox One release I think I have destroyed like 4 controllers. They just seem to start either drifting or a bumper button starts not triggering reliably. It is aggravating.

I had an Elite for a while. Build quality seemed very strong. And the analog sticks and d-pad are easily replaceable. Just wasn't worth the cost for me.

I got a surprise $5 added to my account yesterday. Not sure if they are doing some sort of promotion or a random thing for people that haven't bought anything recently, but it's worth looking to see if you have a balance now. It looks like it expires in 90 days.

I got too lazy to go to Best Buy last night for the launch, will pick mine up later today. I did spend time enabling 4K downloads on my old Xbox One to download all the patches/assets for my supported games ahead of time.

I picked mine up at GS there were about 9 people, although one was there to pick up Need for Speed : Payback.
I had moved everything, and did the back-up to my external. Hooked everything up went through the welcome screens. It found my back-up, and said it would check for updates. Set-up probably took 15 minutes, and I was ready to go.
Now, I have to track down a Kinect Xbox One S adapter.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
I picked up my Scorpio a couple of hours ago but only had time to start the initial setup before running out the door again. Now I'm doing a network transfer of all my stuff off my Xbox One S. I'm doing it over wifi, so it's taking a long while, but this is still way more convenient than queuing things up myself.
With the kerfuffle over Titanfall 2's dynamic resolution, I'm thinking I might just play the new Horizon Zero Dawn DLC and see what shakes out. I'm hoping to get a stack of Xbox One games for my birthday next weekend that'll take better advantage than anything I have now anyway.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
I picked my Scorpio Edition at Best Buy this afternoon. The initial set up and update took longer then I expected, but i'm all up and running now. I transferred everything I had to an external hard drive the other day, so I had all my existing games ready to go.
The only Enhanced games I had ready to go are Gears 4, Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider, (and Slime Rancher...) but I just got Call of Duty WWII from my company store for shits and giggles to mess with too. The enhanced 360 versions of Gears 3 and Halo 3 apparently are pretty damn impressive, so I might install those later just to check out.
Also decided to buy Planet Earth 2 on UHD just to have something else to make this worthwhile I'll wait until Black Friday to pick up more stuff (Wolfenstein, Shadow of War)

The BC version of Halo 3 looks better than what's presented in the MCC, however, its locked to 30fps unlike MCC's 60fps.
Call of Duty: WW2 runs like butter unlike what I was dealing with on my S.
I haven't tried any other games. The only Xbox One X enhanced games I'm currently in possession of are Infinite Warfare, Gears of War 4, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Slime Rancher, and Titanfall 2 for the XO side and Fallout 3, Gears of War 3, and Mirror's Edge for the 360 BC side.
