re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I found some really great deals, got my XBone couple days ago, really happy with it. Had never heard of Ori but I love it.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga $19.99
LEGO Batman $4.99
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes $10.00
Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition $7.50

Got my copy of Fallout 4 with free download of 3 from Amazon $39.85

Considering:
Sunset Overdrive $13.99
Watch Dogs $11.89
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition $17.40 all from Amazon. Thoughts on these?

Can't get most of Rare Replay to work, wont load my 360 profile for some reason but everything else works. Kinda sucks I can't use voice commands without a Kinect but I'll live.

Tomb Raider is amazing. The digital version is on sale all the time though, so it might be worth waiting if you're interested in going digital on some titles.

If you didn't see a few posts above, Sunset Overdrive will be free next month for XBox Live Gold subscribers.

Thanks, I'll hold off on that. I've got a free month but I don't know if I'll order Gold once it's done.

Make sure you wait to redeem it then, because once it expires you won't have access to the free games anymore.

They just recently offered non-Gold members 1 month for $1. I went ahead and took advantage of it just to pick up this months and next months free games. Plus I picked up a free month during the Bing promo here recently. Will hold off on using it until another good month of free games.

You're mistaken. On the Xbox 360, anything you got from Games with Gold were yours to keep even after your Xbox Live Gold subscription lapsed, but that's not the case on the Xbox One. Microsoft rejiggered it to be like PS+. No active subscription, no GwG games.

Whoa, Sunset Overdrive? That's the first full on retail game for either system right?

Who had SO in the pool?

Didn't expect it before Ryse.

Wow, I did not know that. I knew you kept them on the 360, so I just assumed it was the same on the XO. I guess I can use this month and next months games as rentals and see if they are something I would like to own as I do not see myself buying a full subscription unless I found one really cheap.

At $36 on sale it works out to $3/month. Hardly breaks the bank even if you only play a few games, or just treat it as a demo service.

So we got Sunset Overdrive on GwG before we got Ryse.

How often does that happen? $36 is worth it.

Once a month to six weeks? The most recent post in the Video Game Deals thread is for Gold for $35.

Gold is on sale far more often than PS+ and usually cheaper by a few bucks too, for comparison.

Even if you can't get it that cheap, I'd try it for a year anyway to see what kind of value you get out of it personally.

Well clearly I meant "That's the first full on retail game, that I'm interested in, for either system right?

I must have missed the rest. But aren't ACIV, Rayman and Tomb Raider last gen titles?

Assassin's Creed IV was released Oct 2013 on 360 and PS3, then on XB1 and PS4 in Nov 2013.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assass...IV:_Black_Flag

Rayman Legends was released Sept 2013 on 360 and PS3, then on XB1 and PS4 in Feb 2014.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayman_Legends

Tomb Raider (2013) was released March 2013 on 360 and PS3, then on XB1 and PS4 in Jan 2014 in a "Definitive Edition".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomb_R...13_video_game)

Keep in mind that the PS4 and XB1 were both released Nov 2013. So ACIV I don't think qualifies at all, and Rayman Legends barely. Only Tomb Raider could really qualify as being originally a "last-gen" title, although the XB1 version is an updated version.

Actually, now you have a point. If you don't count MGS V: Ground Zeroes or Styx: Master of Shadows (which coincidentally were both given away on both systems) as a full game (since both were kind of short and released on disc at a discounted price), the currently free Lords of the Fallen is the first Next-Gen-exclusive, full retail title given away and Sunset Overdrive would be the second. Every other next-gen system full game (Games With Gold : Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season, Thief, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, The Wolf Among Us
Playstation Plus : Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition, The Walking Dead: Season Two) is either a port, remaster or a game that came out on the previous and next-gen systems simultaneously.
