Yeah, forget Reddit.

That link should take you to the Feature Requests forum. You might need to sign in before you can view the forum, though.

Probably because it is a preview forum and you are not in the preview...

That's what I figured, but it seemed a safe assumption that others might not be in the preview either. Which is why I suggested an alternative.

Oh, Twitter is also a good place where MS people are very responsive, but it may be too hip for some.

In that case I'd recommend trying snail mail with an enclosed SASE for a reply.

MS is going to credit 7 days of live for anyone who tried to log on on March 11 but had problems doing so. So, basically, if you got Titanfall on launch, you'll probably get it.

Can I just say how annoying it is to have to update controller firmware? Especially that I have to connect it to the console? Lame.

^ I actually don't like the demo in the second video, because the guy turns the in-game camera away just as the second building starts to blow. I wanted to see the view on the building in both shots. Tsk tsk.

Hey XB1 owners, is the news about some 5 years old hacked his dad's XB1 account real? The kid entered bunch of wrong passwords to prompt the validation screen. Then he entered spaces as the password and viola, he logged into his dad's account.

Question, I thought the whole keyboard password thingy don't exist on XB1, it's voice activated, no? I don't have a XB1 so I don't know a lot of Xbox stuff.

Yes, it's real. Yes, MS has already fixed the issue with a patch. As with the 360, certain patches are mandatory before you can actually connect to XBL. I imagine this was included in one of those patches.

It's quite a flaw, but since it required direct access to the console (ie: it couldn't have been done remotely from the other side of the planet, but only with the console and controller available in the immediate vicinity), the end-result is not as bad as it could have been.

Oh I see, the kid used the controller, ha, clever little bugger! He probably knows the voice password won't work...

Great interview about where the console is headed.

Looks like a Plex app has been given the green light by MS. I've never used Plex before, but if it replaces having to put all my tv shows and mkv files on a USB, I'm all for it!

Plex is very cool, been wanting a Plex device lately. This might lead me to get an XBox faster if they're not making a PS4 app.

What's the difference between using Plex and One Drive?

Plex is huge. I don't use it, won use it. But in all the Apple forums people love that application. They would love to have Plex support in the AppleTV, and then it would be perfect.

So yeah, with Plex they should at least be at the same level as the PS3 (in multimedia capabilities). Yeah, it's that huge.

Plex is the main thing I use on my Roku. You need to have a PC/Mac hosting your media with Plex Server running in the background.

That's about it actually, it works just like that.

Oh man, Plex would be amazing. In fact if XB1 does end up getting Plex that would be close to making my Roku obsolete.

If only the ability to turn on the console and immediately start playing games was as important to MS as the ability to share game footage with disinterested parties all over the world apparently is to them.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I'm actually gonna go out on a limb here and say the game-sharing features they allow via their suite of apps outweigh the one-time install issue. Granted, I've only installed 4 Xbox One games.

The whole quick resume/suspended app thing is a big plus too. Maybe it's just me but expecting some basic prep time before playing a game for the first time isn't gonna make me rage out. I've installed every 360 game I've played since the optional install was patched in.

I'm looking forward to the YouTube uploads.

The console has booted up and played games in under 30 seconds since launch. Not sure what your issue is there...

Yeah after that initial install it's the quickest console to get me into a playable game since the days of cartridges.

Every time I turn it on it's "Please Sign in", then once I select my profile (the only one on the system) it asks "Is this you?".
Yeah, it doesn't take long to select and click a couple of buttons, but seeing as the 360, PS3 and PS4 have auto-sign-in, I find it super-annoying that the XO doesn't (unless you have a Kinect hooked up, which I don't and can't without the non-existent extension cable).
Like I've said, I believe it's a feature that's intentionally disabled to try and force everyone to keep using their Kinect (lord knows there's no other reason to use it -- oh wait, Kinect Sports Rivals comes out on Tuesday for $59.99 )

Yeah, auto sign-in would be nice. I imagine we will we that in the next update or two.

Side note, Kinect Sports looks pretty fun and I have mine paid off and waiting for tomorrow. It will be nice to finally get off my ass and try the Kinect out

just curious, stu : did you play the Kinect Sprts games on the 360? Because I did (and so did the family) and while they were a cool curiosity for a two or three gaming sessions, it quickly became old and we never touched them again.
