Absolutely. The license is tied to your gamertag, so you can re-download as many times as you want, and wherever you want.

And yeah, the QR scanning is certifiably bad-ass. I was mad when I had to type in a different code. MS should ban non-QR codes for XO. Fuck that ancient-ass shit.

The linking in the YouTube app was very nice.. Paired it with my laptop. Started a video playing in Youtube on my laptop and it sent it to the YouTube app on my Xbox.. nice as its easier to search for something on the laptop over the xbox. this way I can search and find the video on the laptop and play it on my xbox.

If any of you don't have the SmartGlass app, install it ASAP! You don't need a Harmony remote if you have the app. You can do almost everything you can do with the controller.

They just need to add the ability to scan QR codes to the app, and it would be complete.

Couldn't you control youtube from another device on the 360? I seem to recall using my phone to find videos

Yup... Smartglass was nice to send a message. Uses keyboard on device. The smartglass was also sweet in Dead Rising.

Well after spending time with both systems I can say that the xbox interface hands down destroys the PS4. Also, even though it may not be a big deal to some people, I think xbox once again has the much better controller. I hope they update the PS4 to play 3D Blu-rays soon so it gets some use prior to the Destiny beta.

NBA 2k14 is great. Way better than the 360 version.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Got my system hooked up and in place pretty easy last night when I got home. Navigating is going to take some getting used to as is the voice command list.

I have two issues so far. The first might just be the HDMI splitter I had to buy in order to get the systems all hooked up. My picture has stopped working 2 times so far. I will be in the middle of something and the image just disappears. I'll fiddle with the connections and it will come back. I'll have to research a better splitter I believe.

The next issue is Kinect. For voice it's amazing. Even if I don't know what I am doing the commands work very well. Then I tried the free Rivals game. Getting Kinect to realize I was in the room moving was extremely frustrating. I'd wave around like mad bouncing in and out of the app/game. Finally for some reason it would recognize me and then the game worked flawlessly and by that I mean WAY better than I expected or figured it would. LOVED the demo once it worked but getting the Kinect to see me and allow me to select the buttons on the screen shouldn't be that damn tough. I wish I knew what the issue was.

Oh....and I suck at Killer Instinct. Thank god I got it for free.

A lot of people have said they were able to fix this issue by moving the Kinect lower and making sure it can see your whole body. I haven't tried KSR, but when I went into Kinect setup and looked at the view it was much higher than it should have been and couldn't see me below the knees (half the view was the ceiling). This was with sitting it on top of my TV and right beside the old Kinect, so I moved the new one under the TV.

Something for everyone who plans on using Kinect for motion controls in games to consider.

"OH I thot I was bying xbox one with that acheevmant. I waanna reefun."
An amusing follow-up to this: a lot of sellers who don't know any better are posting images of the insert with the 25-digit code covered up but the QR code still fully visible. I guess they don't realize that scanning that code from a computer screen with a phone outputs the actual 25-digit code.

A lot of the codes listed on eBay are now being redeemed this way by the scumbags of the internet.

I imagine a lot of eBay claims are forthcoming once those then sell to other people.

I adjusted the camera 2 or 3 times during this process. It was able to see me, the floor and ceiling during each adjustment. I even adjusted the floor level with that additional setting as well. It honestly just seemed that waving to register yourself with Kinect this time around just doesn't work well.

It is weird that the Kinect calibration is not part of the initial set up.

You have to go into settings and select "I moved the kinect...." to set it up properly.

I'm having trouble making digital purchases. It's not accepting my card on file. I switched over to my 360 and the same card works fine. Anyone tried this?

I had the same issue buying Ghosts. I knew the card was good so I just waited 10 minutes and it let me by it. I just chalked it up to a launch day thing.

I wonder why they went through the whole "tied to the gamertag in the email" thing then?

Well, if anyone else here received Killer Instinct and isn't going to get a One or care to use the code.. I'd happily accept the code from you.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I have to admit the XBOX On command is really really nice. I did run into a snag where I wasn't specific enough about the model of my TV and it didn't turn on like the XBOX and the recever. I went in a send time and put the entire model number of my Samsung set and tried it again. Worked like a charm then. I just have to get used to the controller not booting up before both times I sat there fumbling with the controller for a moment before realizing it wasn't working because it wasn't on.

You can also pin the Settings if that's something you're accessing a lot.

I checked this out yesterday since I've done Insanity before. Looking for the Insanity and P90x stuff, I only saw 1 Insanity workout and only 2 P90x workouts. Are ya'll seeing more for these 2? Are we getting more in the coming weeks or is this all they're giving us?
