The setup on the PS4 is great. I can either plug my headphones into the bottom of the controller without needing an adaptor, or I can use my Plantronics Mixer by plugging it into the USB slot on the front of the PS4.

With the Xbox One's adapter you can only use your own headsets for in-game chat, not for game audio output which can be done on the PS4 controller without an adapter

Sorry I was unclear. We complain about our standalone BR player not having voice. Typically we don't use the Xbox to play BRs.
I don't really know why. I guess because then it feels like the standalone player would be useless? Or I don't want to take my main game out of the Xbox?

Ah, understood. I gave my family my extra BD player because I find it too slow and out of date compared to the Xbox One's speed.
I think MS needs to allow better control of cable/satellite. There's no reason why there can't be better guide control, and of course a record program option.

An Xbox One Media Remote was briefly listed on a couple of international Amazon sites (.co.uk and .ca) before being pulled.
The $24.99 CAD price converts to around $22.70 USD. It's a really basic remote but is a nice alternative to using a controller or voice commands. Listed for a March 4th release date.
BTW, I think the audio sync issue with the Xbox One Blu-ray player has been knocked out. I watched the entire third season of Sherlock the other day without any problems whatsoever. (For what it's worth, the PS4 playback was extremely choppy, as if it were 8 frames a second or something. Had the same problem with The Big Showdown a few months back. No playback issues at all on the Xbox One.)

Not bad. Looks kind of like a Roku remote. I hope it has a headphone jack.
Also, although CAD is going in the shitter, I'd expect the USD price to be the same at $24.99. So far for XO, everything is the same on both sides of the border.

The Xbox one uses IR and Harmony, at least, already has entries that work. Now the PS4, on the other hand, is in dire need of a remote.

Some reports are indicating that this update also removes the ugly sharpen filter that was previously applied by the system to all upscaled non-1080p games, resulting in a lot of games (Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, AC4, and presumably the Titanfall beta) now looking a lot better.
