In the shopping cart, before checkout. You have to enter an email address first, then the page refreshes and lets you enter a promo code.

Does it say 1-2 days, or up to 1-2 days? Typically NewEgg has quick delivery, but they may build in some leeway if there's an issue with payment, they run out of codes and have to request more, etc.

So looking back at my past NewEgg orders of digital codes, it's not instant delivery. One was delivered within 30 minutes, another in 20 minutes. I do think the "allow" is just an upper limit on the delivery time, not an average.

I got an email from XBox saying that if I re-sign up for 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate for $29.99, I will get a free 6 month subscription to Spotify Premium. Anyone get this email? I tried clicking the link on it and it won't lead to the deal.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

https://majornelson.com/2019/10/28/p...-limited-time/

At Xbox we believe strongly in choice. Choice in what, where and how you play, in addition to where and how you buy. It’s with that that we’re thrilled to reintroduce Xbox All Access to more players around the world starting with the U.S., U.K. and Australia— and now including an all-new upgrade option for the next Xbox console, Project Scarlett.

With Xbox All Access, you get an all-inclusive Xbox experience with everything you need to start playing right out of the box. The program is a great choice for players who want flexibility in their purchasing options and are looking for the best value in gaming. When joining Xbox All Access, you get:While Xbox All Access isn’t eligible to be stacked with any other discounts or limited time promotions, the price you pay per month is dependent upon which console you choose and saves players over $100 dollars compared to purchasing everything separately.

Here’s how it works in four easy steps:
  • In order to join the program, simply visit a participating retailer.
  • Select the console you would like to purchase with no upfront cost.^
  • Qualify with our financing partner (Citizens Bank in the U.S.; Klarna in the U.K.; Telstra in Australia). Once approved, complete your purchase with the retailer.
  • Once you’ve signed up and brought your console home, it’s time to power up and game on.
Xbox All Access will be available beginning on October 29 in Australia, November 5 in the U.K. and November 18 in the U.S. through select partners and retailers, including:Some program details vary by country. Please visit country specific links to learn more.

Players in the U.S. and U.K. who purchase an Xbox One console with Xbox All Access have the option to upgrade to Project Scarlett once it’s available Holiday 2020 and they’ve made 18 payments. Players in Australia can buyout their hardware at any time and upgrade to Project Scarlett once it’s available.

We realize buying a console is an investment and some players are waiting to make the jump to the next generation with Project Scarlett when it launches in Holiday 2020 alongside “Halo Infinite”. This is why as a limited time offer this holiday season, players in the U.S. and U.K. who purchase an Xbox One X with Xbox All Access through December 31, 2019, have the option to upgrade to the next Xbox console in as few as 12 months and once Project Scarlett has officially launched.

In order to participate in the upgrade program when Project Scarlett launches in Holiday 2020, players in the U.S. and U.K. will need to be in good standing with the respective financing partner in their market, purchase Project Scarlett with a new Xbox All Access purchase from the same retail partner where they joined the program, and trade-in the console originally purchased with Xbox All Access. Terms and conditions apply, including an upgrade fee for players upgrading from the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition to Project Scarlett.

As always, we’re grateful to our fans for their support and look forward to bringing Xbox All Access to more players around the world in the coming months.

To find out more about Xbox All Access, including how to join, what consoles are available for purchase, your upgrade option, and terms and conditions, please click here in the US, here in the United Kingdom and here in Australia, or visit your local retail partner.

So essentially that wall of text boils down to "you can now lease an Xbox."

Did I get that right, or am I missing something?

That was my impression too.

I suppose if Scarlett is only a year away, if the payments end up being no more than half of what retail would be, it would be worth it to not have to deal with selling it to GameStop for $20 and some pocket lint.

Yes it is
if the payments end up being no more than half of what retail would be...

This is like Rent-A-Center or Aaron's or any other sketchy rental place. Will try to gouge you to get you to way overpay into the future on an Xbox One for this Christmas.

Rule of thumb : If you have to get approved for a line of credit to buy a video game console, you can't afford that video game console.

Well that's not entirely true. It's basically rent to own at retail prices, except everyone knows that the consoles and memberships are always on sale. Kinda like how cell phone companies are operating today. I kind of appreciate things like this because when I was younger and we were dirt poor this would have been the only way we could have ever owned a console, except for maybe putting it on a credit card and just paying the minimum monthly balance (which would cost more in the long run)

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

This is just an expansion of the All Access deal they added to the B&M Microsoft Stores last year:
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/...ear-agreement/

The homepage says plans start at $19.99/month, so about $5 more than paying full retail for Game Pass Ultimate per month:
https://www.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-all-access

Amazon looks to be the only online retailer at the moment:
Amazon Amazon

It's $19.99/month for an XB1:SAD
It's $22.99/month for an XB1:S
It's $30.99/month for an XB1:X

The payment term is 24 months. After 18 months there's an option to upgrade your console, and for a limited time the XB1:X can be upgraded after only 12 months. So If you started an XB1:X plan now, you may be able to upgrade to Scarlett on release. This upgrade deal is good through the end of the year (12/31/2019).

It might make sense if you can't afford a console's upfront cost, and were going to be paying for Game Pass Ultimate monthly. As it is, with sales on both consoles and GPU cards, All Access is cheaper than full retail, but more expensive than just outright buying a console and cards on sale.

Edit: more details on the upgrade to Scarlett:
Upgrade: Upgrade option after the equivalent of 18 payments for the next Xbox console only, coming Holiday 2020 (excludes Xbox One X, S, and S All Digital Edition). New contract, terms, and pricing apply. Upgrading from Xbox One S All-Digital Edition will require payment of a $20 upgrade fee (subject to change). The fee will be billed by Citizens One and will be due according to the first statement issued following the upgrade. Requires return of console, controller, and power cord in good condition. The next Xbox console available under the upgrade option is subject to FCC rules and will comply with the appropriate FCC rules when available. See product and upgrade terms at Xbox.com/XboxAllAccessTerms.

††. Special Holiday Upgrade Offer: Upgrading to Project Scarlett is subject to its release and availability at the time you upgrade. Upgrade requires at least 12 payments on your original Xbox All Access contract, and purchase of a new 24-month Xbox All Access contract for Project Scarlett, expected Holiday 2020. Offer valid for original purchase of Xbox One X with Xbox All Access through Dec 31, 2019; not available with Xbox One S. New contract, terms, and pricing apply. Requires return of console in good condition. Project Scarlett is subject to FCC rules and will comply with the appropriate FCC rules when available. See product and upgrade terms at Xbox.com/XboxAllAccessTerms.

Renting a damn XBox?? First-world problems, man, to the max!

If you are so desperate that you feel you need to rent an Xbox, you've got uncurable money problems and are hopeless financially. Or, you've got kids who control you, and are a terrible parent.

Jay, thanks for posting that info up. If one thinks GPU is worth the full price of $15/mo then getting an XBX for an additional $16/mo for 24 mo isn't a bad deal.

Need to read the upgrade fine print before deciding if that is a deal or not but if someone really wanted this now and really wanted an next Gen at launch (though I have no idea who would fit this weird demographic) it might work well for them

There's never like a middle ground with you, huh?

No idea if this is is just all internet schtick or what but I always imagine like an 80 year old man waving his cane in the air at the kids stepping on his lawn on the way to school.

Rent to own is usually a scam that bilks people out of money with exorbitant rates, but I have no problem with payment/installment plans like this if it fits the lifestyle of some families and makes sense for the family (without exorbitant fees/interest rates), same for cell phones, cars, and houses, heck, even Disneyland Tickets if that's what you're into.

This Spring I went to Mexico and found myself in a Rent to Own place and somehow noticed that they had a Dual Shock PS4 controller that was available to Rent to Own and would end up costing about $100 to own - - in MEXICO!

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

This service is more like the "free" phones you used to get with old 2-year cell phone contracts, or even like the current installment plans on cell carriers. They're subsidizing the interest because they know that as long as you're paying it off, you're using their service, which is where the real money is made.

Also, unlike Rent-A-Center, which has to make above retail price + interest back to make sense as a business model, Microsoft can sell the console for less, because they make it, and there's the added revenue of the service they're bundling with it. Think of how cheap people have gotten Game Pass Ultimate for with the conversions from Gold. Think of the sales on the cards. With these All Access customers, even taking $100 off the overall retail price of a console + 24 months of GPU, that's only about a $4/month discount, so they're getting like $11/month GPU revenue, plus the full cost of the console back. And if people keep upgrading every 18 months, they've basically locked in a customer base for the next generation, and possibly the one after.
