Xbox One X is $399 for black Friday apparently.

Xbox One X drops to $399 in Microsoft’s Black Friday deals
https://www.theverge.com/platform/am...mpression=true

Microsoft is offering its latest Xbox One X console at its lowest price point ever for Black Friday. The software maker is taking $100 off the Xbox One X, bringing it down to $399.99 during the Black Friday period. Microsoft’s deal will be available at a variety of retailers, but the company warns it’s a limited offer between November 18th and 26th.

Is it me or does the sound of Taco Bell chime when turning on Xbox every time, not seem appealing?

I have the Halo X1 and the powering on/off sound was cool the first couple of days, but it's loud as fuck and super annoying at this point. I'd imagine the TB sound grating even faster.

It would be part of the appeal for me and I don’t see how hearing it once a day would be annoying anymore than the normal xbox one sound is, which is not at all.

I could see people snapping up some cheap used discs to convert to a digital copy.

I'm down with that. I have a handful of physical games that I bought cheap because they weren't cheap digital at the time.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I know the world is going away from discs and my media purchases tend to be digital, but I'm not ready for this for console. I still have a number of disc-based games and disc-based movies & TV, and my console is my main player.

I do like the disc-to-digital idea, though. I wonder if they'd assign it directly to your account or if you'd get a code that you could then take to the secondary market.

I'm sticking with discs until digital games start qualifying for sales and deals at b&m.

Download only is bad for people that live in rural areas. You're lucky to have a 100k download speed in my hometown when the internet is working....

Fortunately, it's just an option. They're not getting rid of discs, although nowadays it sometimes seems the day-one patches are as big as the game.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I love the idea, but i've always been a big supporter of digital and most of my games are digital now. I've said it before, but having discounted Microsoft gift cards come up often plus Microsoft reward point discounts a few times of year make it easy to get "free" money for digital purchases.

That said, I use my One X as a UHD player, so I personally would stick with disc players in the near future.

I'm excited for this. XO is my first/only all-digital console, so it'll be a good opportunity to upgrade the VCR.

I wonder if they're trying to get 7nm chips in there as well. That would be absolute gravy.

It's an option for now, but I have to wonder if the next generation of gaming systems will be digital/download only. I'd hate to wait for a day or two for my new game to download before I can play it...

I'd be surprised if it was digital only, even if digital sales have increased significantly lately. That said, if it were to happen i'd think you'd see pre-loading exist for almost everything, as it already does for a lot of the major releases.

If anything, it can make your access to games quicker since you don't have to pop in the disc, wait for it to install, and then download whatever day one patch.
