I guess some people will shit on anything.

I think this is exciting independently of the dearth of games coming out on Xbox. If Sony did the same with the Playstation 4 Pro with enhanced versions of games throughout 4 generations of games, I'd be excited too.

I actually played Red Dead and Sonic Generations about a month back on the 360.

Yesterday I popped in both on the X and while Red Dead was a huge improvement Sonic Generations with it's bright colors stood out more on the X.

The effort Phil Spencer is putting behind the X especially with backwards compatibility and getting X patches for older games should be acknowledged more by gamers of all consoles. In some ways you are getting a free remastered version of an old game you haven't played in years.

I really liked Super Mega Baseball, looking forward to getting to play the 2nd game free.

Fingers crossed that Vanquish gets some kind of Xbox One X spit and polish. I've been aching for an excuse to replay that one.

I had no idea that Avatars were even still a thing on the Xbox One. I never can see them. That said, at the Store app, there is an ad that if you click on it you can get TWELVE Avengers items — Costumes for Iron Man, Thor, Star Lord, Captain America [(all black, for some reason), Black Panther and Black Widow and Gamora for the cross-dressers as well as Avatar items Rocket, Groot and Hulk companions, Dr Strange’s cape and Thanos’ gauntlet. Grab the, all are Free!

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I hope you guys can help me because I have a problem I don't know how to fix. I allow my eight year of daughter to play her kid friendly games on my Xbox using my gamertag.

Well, she told some kids at school and they have started following me. I have blocked them three times now and somehow, they find a way to unblock themselves and start following me again.

I had a long talk with my daughter asking her not to give out my gamertag at school and please tell her classmates to quit following me. Well, this is eight year old 2nd graders i'm talking about and I looked today and of course, they are following me once again.

I don't know what else to do for these kids to get the hint to stop it. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks guys.

What is your gamertag? I'd like to post it on a Paw Patrol website for further information.

Obviously those kids friends just want to link up with your daughter via your game tag.

But I get your paranoia. An adult profile linking up with a bunch of little kids on a gaming console online might raise some red flags.

Congratulations! You and your daughter are in the midst of learning a lesson on what it's like to be a girl online.

Yes, my point exactly! If a bunch of 8 eight old boys and girls following me, it will look like i'm trying to recruit little kids for other activities which is the furthest thing from the truth.

Any reason you don't give your daughter her own gamertag and implement parental controls? She'll still be able to play online without a separate Gold subscription on your home Xbox One.

I thought by letting her play on my account, crap like this wouldn't be happening. Plus, another 60 bucks a year for another Xbox Live account would be a waste of money. She mostly plays the Switch and her tablet. Very seldom does she want to play a game on Xbox.

I made my kid a separate gamertag but he commandeered my account. Now I have like 300 friends that are all kids.

Yup, me too (on the PS4). My son started playing Overwatch on my account since it was restricted from his and I was at work. He soon made so much progress that he didn't want to start over again and thus Decker01 now has a bunch of DVD Talk friends and a bunch of little kid Friends who love playing Overwatch and Fortnite and love sending game invites while Decker01 is playing Far Cry 5.

Standard Xbox Live accounts don't cost any money, you can create as many as you want. You also don't have to pay for another Gold subscription, since her account will just use yours while on your home Xbox.

My wife has a separate Xbox Live account just for watching Netflix and stuff.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

An Xbox update is going to add an option for 120fps refresh rate at 1080p and 1440p.
https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2018/04/20/may-xbox-update/

This article has some speculation on what exactly that means. The original XB1 may be able to handle 1080p120, but not 1440p120 due to limitations of HDMI 1.4a, at least not without reduced color depth.

It ain't Skywind, but:

Morrowind's Game of the Year Edition with all the expansions is up on the marketplace for $15, which isn't a bad deal (for console players) considering the physical copy seems to have been going for 2-3x that recently.
