Game pass is showing up for some at $5/month and you can stack them, so if you are interested, you may want to check the MS site. Appears to be a targeted promo.

Yeah, on CAG they said you can stack up to 12 months, but I did 14 and could have gone more but I got tired of the transaction.

Looking forward to checking out the service and then bitching here about how I already own all those games.

So my son tried to use his Xbox One last week and since he hadnt used it for a long time, it tried to do an update and ever since it no longer connects to any TV. The light is on but no matter what TV or HDMI cable I used, it would just be a NO SIGNAL error on the TV. Did the update bork the system? Is it done? I tried doing the reset holding the eject button but no dice.

Did you do the real hard reset? Press and hold Xbox button on front of machine for about 3-5 seconds.

Yes tried that as well. Nothing comes up on the TV. Worked fine while it was updating then it just went black on the screen and now says No Signal.

I'm also seeing the $5 promo. How do you get them to stack? Do you keep going back to join now or buy as a gift?

I assume you also tried disconnecting the power cord? I often have to do that when my controller isn't connecting.

I just used mine last night and it offered me a 2nd month if I turned on auto renew. (Then proceeded to add several $5 ones)

No expert here...but my Xbox One S wouldn't turn on after being disconnected for a couple months. Plugging it in directly to the wall as opposed to an outlet adapter finally triggered it to power up (then put it back on the adapter and it worked fine)

I don't think that is the issue because it powers on, discs will insert and eject and you can hear the hard drive spinning and the light is on but i will try this.

For what it’s worth, I think I read somewhere that MS has even said consoles might act weird during/after updates if connected to a power strip or backup battery. Something about how it already has protections in place for that stuff. I’ll see if I can find a real link for that...

^ It's not like I wasn't going to check it out anyways as it's one of the only reasons I've signed up for 15 months of Game Pass, but that's good to hear anyways.

I feel this game would really benefit from an open beta. I've heard good things come out of the closed beta, but the only way to get people on board is to try it out first. Personally I don't think it's going to be much fun playing with strangers or without headsets.
