re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

So far during Xbox Live's BF, I've bought Mega Man Legacy Collection (X1) for $6.00 ($1 per game is too good to pass up even though I've played these a million times) and then $4.94 for Elder Scrolls Oblivion (X360)....I have it on disc, but always wanted it on digital on the cheap. Also, I heard thru the rumor mill that Oblivion is going the way of BC. I REALLY hope that rumor is true.

Yeah, I have a 360 wireless dongle for my PC. I think MS stopped making the official ones though, and i've heard most of the 3rd party ones are dicey but the one linked seems to have good reviews. Can't believe I forgot about that option.

I still use the 360 pad for random PC games, works great.

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I ended up buying a bundle deal at Walmart:

Xbox One S 1TB Gears of War 4 Bundle
Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare
Life Of Pi UHD Movie
Xbox One PowerA Wired Controller

The total price was $320 after tax. I'll sell the movie for $20, which should bring it down to $300. I figure that's a decent price for a 1TB console, GOW4, COD: IW, and a backup controller.

Here's another stupid newbie question. Is there any benefit to buying the digital version of a game instead of the physical version (aside from convenience)?

Not really. It is more convenient though. Actually a few first-party games this Fall (Gears 4, Forza Horizon 3, ReCore) include a copy for PC if and only if you go digital.

I suppose you could game-share a digital copy with a friend if you wanted to.
The main disadvantage is no selling the game when you're done with it, and no loaning it to a friend.
The biggest warning I'd have for you is to NEVER pre-order a game digitally unless you're 100% sure that you'll love it. You wouldn't be able to get a refund if the reviews were terrible and everyone hated it.

I like digital so much better. But, if there is a good deal on physical, which there usually is I'll get that and suck it up. I only play one game at a time so it is t a big deal...

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I've always been a big proponent of digital, but it depends on the type of game. I'd never buy a sports game digital knowing that it's doubtful I would go back to play it after a year, but the big exclusives and replayable titles I like having around.

Meanwhile, some additional Microsoft deals up.

Gears 4 for $35.99 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/stor...4/9nblggh4pbbm

Forza Horizon 3 for $38.99 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/stor...n/9nblggh4x6t9

For the month of December, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 – as part of the Games with Gold program. You can play both Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One with Backward Compatibility.

On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition ($29.99 ERP) for free during the month of December. Outlast ($19.99 ERP) will be available as a free download from December 16th to January 15th.

On Xbox 360, starting Thursday, December 1st, Outland ($9.99 ERP) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through December 15th. Then on December 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Burnout Paradise ($14.99 ERP) for free through December 31st.

It seemed like a lot of people were waiting on Burnout Paradise compatibility. Sleeping Dogs sounds good to me.

Yeah, I was just going to ask if BP had already been announced for backwards compatibility.

(Now we just need Deadly Premonition!!)

Looks like Burnout Paradise, Pure, and Rayman Legends are BC today.

If price doesn't matter, then get an Astro set. Something like the A50 wireless. They cost around $300 MSRP.

I have the Microsoft Xbox One Stereo headset, they cost around $60, they work fine for me. They are not wireless, you have to plug the cable into the controller, but that's not a big issue to me.

So, I just ordered the 1TB green Xbox One S bundle from Best Buy. Can I purchase some of these black Friday deals for digital games (like FH3 above) without having the system in hand? I'm guessing it goes directly into an xbox account, not like a digital code that I could enter later.

I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. You can also go to Microsoft's online store and talk to a chat representative if you have any additional questions.

Pretty sure you can, you just need a Microsoft account which if you have an old Hotmail/Outlook account, use one to log in to Windows, or want to just create one now.

I was going to try for the Dell Xbox One S deal tonight, but I figured that is going to be a bitch to get, so I just ordered one from BB w/ the free controller. The 1TB that comes with Gears of War. I absolutely fucking hate the white color, but the other color options that I would consider don't come with a game I want. Oh well.

I was collecting the "free" Games with Gold Xbox One games while I still had only the 360. Once I bought the Xbox One, all of the previous purchases were available for me to download.

Played some Burnout Paradise last night. Damn, I loved that game. My previous save file didn't carry over though. Probably for the best... starting from scratch.

I had not done that on my 360 in advance. I could try, and it'd probably work... I'm okay with starting fresh though.
