Apparently NESBox just got approved by MS:

So have it cached in your downloads before it gets taken down by Nintendo and SEGA
Enjoy your disappointment!
And yeah I can see what strategy you were going for there, MS Phone Support is just horrible (and I imagine EAs is). Glad it all worked out in the end!

Yeah, I'm back in the EA Vault for the first time in months! Finally going to get to be disappointed by Need For Speed.
And to answer your earlier question, I bought another year of EA Access to prove I was incapable of accessing it. Before that, I was (in Microsoft's eyes) a guy who bought a 12 mo code a year ago, who claimed he should still have a year of service but didn't. Once I bought that $30 code from Microsoft Store, redeemed it on Xbox.com and still had no EA Access account, they had to believe me.
That, and your suggestion of Twitter Support did the trick. They cancelled my membership, refunded my money and now it works like it's supposed to.
Thanks to everyone here who tried to help. I'm so glad that my 3 months of fighting with MS and EA on the phone hours at a time is FINALLY over!

Wow, that's awesome. I'd be surprised if it manages to stay up... so how would you play roms on an XBox? Just throw them on a flash drive or something?

NESBOX / Universal Emulator is dead. On Xbox One, anyway.
Microsoft refused to approve his app for the console. Expected, really, even if there's nothing illegal about the app itself.
That said, he's made an HTML5 version that works in the Edge browser on Xbox One. Requires a controller (no keyboard functionality as far as I can tell)

There are two new controller designs coming this fall. First, we have the Xbox Wireless Controller Dawn Shadow Special Edition that comes in a metallic magenta that fades into a matte black finish. Secondly, we have an Xbox Wireless Controller in blue — a fan-favorite color from Xbox Design Lab. Similar to the controller we launched alongside Xbox One S, these new controllers have the new streamlined design, textured grip for enhanced comfort, and Bluetooth technology for gaming on Windows 10 PCs, laptops and tablets*. The new Dawn Shadow controller will be available in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and other Xbox regions October 4 for $69.99 USD. The blue controller will be available in select regions starting September 27 for $64.99 USD, and will hit the shelves at Microsoft Stores and Best Buy first in the U.S.
We’re also updating the black Xbox Wireless Controller to include the new controller features announced at E3. This includes updating the controllers in our PC controller bundles with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, and with the USB Charging Cable. Both bundles allow you to play seamlessly across your Xbox and Windows devices, giving you choice on how you connect to your PC – with Xbox Wireless, USB, or Bluetooth.* The Xbox Wireless Controller in black and PC bundles will start arriving in stores worldwide in September and October respectively, starting at $59.99 USD.
In addition to releasing new controllers this fall, we will also be shipping the new Xbox Stereo Headset –Special Edition. This comfortable lightweight headset allows you to privately listen to and chat in games on Xbox Live – the fastest and most reliable gaming network. The headset also perfect for listening to TV or movies on your Xbox in rich, stereo sound. Plus, the white color is the perfect complement to the white Xbox One S console and matching controller. You can get the Xbox Stereo Headset – Special Edition at Microsoft Stores and GameStop in the U.S. for $64.99 USD and at participating retailers in all Xbox regions around the world starting in late October.

When it comes to recharging your controllers, do people here prefer using their charge and kit, or buy rechargeable batteries?

I used to use rechargeable batteries until I found the OEM recharge kit on clearance at Walmart for around $5. The rechargeable batteries seemed to hold a longer charge.
