Shit, you're right:

To celebrate the release of Warzone Firefight next week, the full game of Halo 5: Guardians will be available to download and play FOR FREE to all Xbox Live Gold members from June 29 to July 5 as part of Xbox Live’s “Free Play Days” program. Additionally, Halo 5: Guardians will be on sale for 50 percent off during this same time. There’s no better time to join the Spartan ranks!

Lock, stock, and barrel. It's an extremely short campaign, and if that's mostly what you're interested in, a week is plenty of time. It'll probably take you less than a day of not-even-that-aggressive playing.

I booted up my xbox one and Halo 5 still shows up as $30. I've checked all the titles and they still have a price. I know i still have Gold cause it even says "Enjoy your Gold discount $30" I can't seem to get it for free.

I just signed in to check it out myself (6pm central time) and there is an install button beside the buy for $30 button now. I'm installing and hope I can blast through the campaign by the end of the weekend. I was going to wait for it on the cheap but nothing is cheaper than zero.

87 GB download! I doubt I'll be able to play tonight it'll still be downloading by the end of the night that's one of the biggest problems I have with this Gen: I have no interest in Online MP so just let me DL the SP only!

Has anyone else gotten emails about a "Super Secret Mission" from Xbox Live where you have to use the smartglass app and some other things to get $10 in credit?

The "Play Anywhere" feature will start on September 13th.

Microsoft's new Play Anywhere feature, which was announced at E3 last month, will go live on September 13, the company confirmed to Polygon.

The feature lets you buy a game (digitally) on Xbox One and get the PC version free or vice versa, while game saves and achievements are also available across devices.

Play Anywhere requires Windows 10's new Anniversary update, which lands on August 2. Additionally, Xbox One users will need the new summer update, which is coming soon.

The first Play Anywhere game will be ReCore, which launches on September 13. Other supported games will include Forza Horizon 3 (September 27), Gears of War 4 (October 11) and Halo Wars 2 (February 17, 2017). You can check out this post to see a rundown of all the Play Anywhere games announced so far.

In related news, Sony recently suggested it has no plans to introduce any kind of program that would unify PlayStation and PC games.

"I always hesitate to be drawn into discussions of someone else's strategy," PlayStation president Andrew House recently said. "I'm more than happy to talk about our own strategy. Yes, there was a big emphasis from the folks at Microsoft on Xbox and PC cross-play. It remains to be seen whether there is latent large consumer demand for that."

Figures, since I just bought one (for that price, allegedly Open Box - but seemingly new, from Best Buy). No way that controller is worth $150, but if it were $100 it's nice. For $120, it's getting close. I still think it's overrated, but it does feel solid and I like the two settings for the triggers. Sucks that they aren't metal though. I do like the paddles as manual shifters for racing games. That's really cool. Don't like that there's no way to set the controller down without triggering a button when the paddles are attached though.

I'm over a month without EA Access now. I'm paid for over another year, but the service is showing as "Inactive" on my account (though shows as paid). MS tells me to call EA. EA tells me they have no access to my account (which I believe, BTW) and that I have to call MS. Nobody knows what to do. What a cluster-fuck this has been. Good thing I have enough non-EA games to play.

Among the many, many irritations I have with the Xbox One, one of the strangest and most confounding is the way that you can't just see how much an item is in their console store. When I look at PSN items, it shows me a price, when I look on the Xbox One, I'm always waiting over 30 seconds while a little circle goes round and around on a blue background until they finally tell me how much something costs. Why the Hell is that? It drives me nuts!

agreed, this controller is way overpriced. i'm glad i got it with $50 off from MS card. it is very solid and feels very good in the hand. i can't even imagine going to the regular controller now...

People are always saying that here. I now have XO four controllers - a Day One (ugh), a Titanfall, a Forza 6 and an Elite. While the first two are cheap and crappy and too clicky, the Forza 6 one still feels great and responsive and actually more comfortable to hold than even the Elite. The tumbsticks are way better and more comfortable with the Elite (and I've never bothered to change the default ones since they're so comfortable), but the rest of the Forza 6 controller (with the rubberized back) I think is just fine honestly.

Yup, the Forza 6 controller is great.

I started using my Day One controller on my PC, and now the left thumbstick makes clicky noises and caused me some serious stress while trying to defeat one of the bosses in Undertale.

Yep, I'm rocking the Forza 6 controller as well. I got it for $40 during Black Friday (cheaper than that actually since I used one of those cereal coupons) and I couldn't imagine spending at least three times that on a elite controller when that one is near perfect.

I never got in to Red Dead, and still have the physical disc for 360, but kind of tempted now to buy it digitally since it's on sale right now.
