re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

I've been seeing these pop up on Amazon a lot lately, so I've been checking there pretty frequently over the last couple days but they've been consistently unavailable.

Then, I heard Best Buy was going to have these in this past weekend, so I decided to stop in today after work on the off chance there were any left over...and there were, so I bought one!

They had 29, I think, yesterday, and there were seven left when I was there today.

I'm up to my eyeballs in Battlefield 4 (and just started Warframe) on PS4, so I'll probably wait until I have a day off next week to actually set this up.

Out of curiosity, I did open the box to get my hands on the controller. Christ that thing just feels small and cramped! I don't think it'll be an issue, but I was really surprised nonetheless.

Anyway, super excited to get it up and running.

And, I had checked Amazon just before I left for Best Buy and they were out of stock. I get home from the store and of course they're available again.

I'll give props to Microsoft regarding availability on these things. It's in stock at Amazon now and I saw some at both Best Buy and Target this past weekend. I still haven't seen a PS4 in store since launch, and it doesn't seem like Amazon gets that many in.

This may or may not happen to me and it's for any future kids I may have.

In the meantime, the smartglass app is your best bet for controlling the console without a controller.

Nope. I'm done with Logitech after their lack of support for the 650 and the expanding battery. I won't ever give them another dime of my money. I'm back to URC with the URC 40. I love it. It is built like a tank, so my kids and drop it and throw it and I don't have to worry about breaking.

Any opinions on a good controller charger? I see the Energizer, Nyko, etc. Anyone have a recommendation?

Just had a Harmony remote die on me because of a swollen battery. Trying to get things replaced has been a nightmare.

Still, I wish there was something comparable on the market.

So Peggle(Peggle 2) is Peggle. Are we talking about Peggle here?

I was going to check the game yesterday, for a few minutes before playing COD, and ended up playing only Peggle all day.

The only "bad" thing is that my wife and daughters look too interested in the game. My 7 years old even downloaded Peggle in her iPhone and seated besides me, playing with me. And now I realize that maybe she was trying to suggest that I allowed her to play Peggle 2. Ha! Good joke little one!

I have an older Harmony remote than you do and it supports all my devices.

What's an expanding battery?

I'm not opposed to it ... Is there any issue with leaving 4 batteries in the charger for an extended period while 4 are in the actual controllers?

You don't have to keep them in the charger, that's the beauty of eneloop.

I have several batteries in a little bowl, when my controller dies I charge those batteries and put new ones from the bowl in the controller. When the charger is done, I put those batteries in the bowl. Simple as that. Eneloop batteries don't lose that much power over time.

That might work ... looking online, the pricing isn't much different from the designated controller chargers .. thanks for the info

I just got the Harmony Ultimate and gotta say that it kicks ass. I haven't tried to update it for the X1 yet but I suspect it'll work great.

Battery swells inside the remote. Then it causes all kinds of issues, like resets or even complete malfunction. Logitech won't support their products so they basically tell people you can either buy a cheap refurb or go pound sand.

that's pretty much how my evening went. I was going to play a few rounds, just to get a feel for the game. Ended up playing for a few hours and not doing any housework while the baby slept and the wife was out.
One thing I like is that, based on what I've seen, even the hardest achievements are actually achievable for a normal person. I've never bothered to aim for the full 1000 for any game (except maybe one of the Prince of Persia games... I think...), but I'll probably do it for Peggle 2.
Fuck this game.

I want to try the Kinect controls on Peggle but accidentally clicked through the single explanation screen.

I glimpsed something about grabbing the screen with a hand to make large movements and hold out a hand with two fingers up to make fine movements.

Then I tried that and nothing really happened. Do you have to activate Kinect mode somehow?
