Just beat "Max Curse of Brotherhood". Took me a couple of hours over the weekend and it was pretty fun. Some parts were quite challenging and I had to check out some YouTube videos more than once when I was stuck. I died 207 times in the playthrough! Just have to complete the final boss and one other level without dying to get 100% achievements

Woah we think alike

... beat "Max Curse of Brotherhood". Took me a couple of hours over the weekend and it was pretty fun. I got 100% Achievements including 7/9 of the extra ones.

I usually don't care about Arcade games, but wasn't sure what to play next after Wolfenstein, so decided to play MAX on my brother's ONE before I came back home.

Haha nice!

I just have to beat the boss without dying and I'm finished. Tried a few times last night but had to quit before I destroyed something out of frustration. I'll probably do a few of the challenges as well for the heck of it.

Updated to the latest firmware (Preview), and it doesn't recognize my Kinect now.

It was time to go to bed, so I will try again later tonight.

Where does it say how many times you died in Max?

I just know I died over 300 times because I just killed myself on purpose, until I got the 300 death extra achievement.

Samething happened to me Kinect or console would not turn on after the update. I had to unplug the console now everything works again.

Holy crap, Guacamelee! is the free game for July. That's awesome! I was ready to drop $15 on it. Also excited to finally try out Battleblock Theater on 360...never looked quite good enough to buy.

Happy that the free game will be Guacamelee. Not happy that "free game" is singular.

I was going to get Guacamelee for the PS3 in a previous sale. Then saw videos and decided it wasn't my kind of game.

But free is free. So I will download it.

Guacamelee is an amazing game. Gets kind of hard later on as you switch around while jumping. If you enjoyed Outland or Ikaruga you'll get the.concept. it's a funny game as well. Don't really need it again, but I guess it's nice having it on a next gen system going forward.

Did anyone else buy the new Peggle 2 DLC?

I'm finding it far easier than the previous characters. I have a few challenges left to complete and then I'm done (again) until the next DLC is out. Releasing a character at a time, every few months, is brilliant.

Also, I played the shit out of the Trials Fusion demo. I think I'll need to make that my next purchase.

Looks like some new challenge arena feature/app? Is being released eventually. Could be cool to battle your friends with any game on any stats you setup.

Also, a game called Wildfire in which the player puts out forest fires. I'm thinking this might just be a tech demo used to test the Arena app though.

I love Amazon's promotion going on now: Order any Xbox One console and get a wireless controller for $49.99 or a Controller + Play and Charge Kit for $64.99.

They are selling the controller now for $49.87 and the kit for $67.61. Big savings all around!

They are also offering 1 yr XBL cards for $39.99 when you buy a console, so at least there is a $10 saving there from what they are selling them for now.

Guacamelee is ridiculous. And fun. Great pick for a free game.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is quite fun as well. I'm already on Chapter 3, but it's my kind of game. Almost makes me wish I actually paid for it.

Yeah, both of the free games are pretty good. I need more time with Guacamelee! but it seems like it I'll like it, even if it is a bit difficult.

MS also added a new Preview Dashboard app that allows us to send feedback, take surveys and report issues. It's really well done. I already submitted an issue, complete with screenshot that has been bothering me for a few months worth of updates now. Whenever a game or app updates, the text "Ready to start" remains on the tile until I delete and re-install the app. It's super annoying and I hope they fix it!

re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

^Oh! I didn't even notice the feedback update (I'm a preview member too). Is it obvious to find, or is it hidden in the settings somewhere?

I have one that I'm definitely going to submit. I downloaded the Zoo Tycoon demo when it first came out, played it, then deleted it. But it still shows up in My Games... as TWO large icons, and not in the "available downloads" section. If I "install" by choosing one of the icons, the demo re-installs. But if I try the other icon, it does basically nothing. I just want it to disappear completely, dammit.

Oh, and if anyone is interested in the preview updates, apparently I have some invites now. Just PM me your gamertag, and I'll send an invite your way tonight. You can choose to subscribe to the updates or unsubscribe at any time if you find it annoying.
