On the Oberon...does anyone know just what type of damage Hallowed Ground does? On the wiki all it says...
Sanctifies the ground before Oberon with righteous fire, inflicting damage to any enemy that stands in the flames.....is this Heat damage? Sure doesn't look like heat, fire or flames.
I'm actually liking Oberon a bit. hallowed ground while not doing extreme high damage right away does have a good use for the right place..ramps, doorway, at a Cryopod, etc...or as in the tips per wiki using a small strip put it on a boss in a small area. The other part...you can overlap for increased damage. Be neat to see this inside a Snow Globe.
Reckoning...just messed with it a bit today. Seems like the 50/50 split on the impact & radiation damage has a good/bad result though. Impact for Corpus at +50% shields, +25% Proto shields and Grineer +25% machinery but -25% on Flesh. Radiation has a +75% for Grineer (Alloy) but a -25% on Corpus Shield. but looking at the combos that's probably the best way to go so you can use it on both Grineer and Corpus with a positive effect.
...and I tried the wiki suggestion by putting in the Equilibrium Mod...it works. They were spawning Health Globes, I converted them over and did it again.

For some reason I thought that Ability damage was never a specific element type. Maybe this isn't correct though, I don't even remember/bother with what damage types work best on which enemies.

What's up?...I don't have the whole planet unlocked.
"For some reason I thought that Ability damage was never a specific element type....Flash"
I know with Corpus taking damage while walking thru it the numbers are "Blue" which is Shield. But Heat damage has a negative -50% with Corpus Shield so not certain what the wiki means by ..."standing in the flames". I haven't tried this on Grineer so I'll see what numbers pop up with them.

Chess...I think we were doing the wrong "Butchers" last night. I believe we were doing the "Normal Butcher" and not the Frontier. Here they are....
http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Butcher
...according to that wiki they are found in the Grineer Forrest. Also they mention...
Fever Strike...Since the start of The Cicero Crisis event, Frontier Butchers drop these, if you have a large amount of antitoxins, simply farm the event for butcher spawns, as they spawn more often than the butchers on Phobos. They are also extremely easy to farm because of their low levels.
If we do the Forrest any chance I can shoot for the Vermillion? I've got all four parts of the anti-dote.

I'll have Loki finished on Friday, and Nova the following day. Also, the Soma is amazing, as I knew it was going to be. Crit chance is nuts. I love that it had two of the Attack type polarities already.

Do y'all suggest starting as Excalibur? Is that the easiest way to get into the groove of the game?
Also, if we pre-ordered, where do we find our bonus of the "Ultimate Fan Pack?"
Thanks!

I had fun with Excalibur on PS4 as the starting frame. I started with Mag on PC after he was nerfed, and I didn't have as much fun with him as I did on PS4 with him pre-nerf.

And I'm fine with whatever also...though I would like at crack at getting that one missing piece for the Bronco Prime.
Have you used the Master Thief mod yet and if so has it been worth it, getting decent stuff, garbage or what?

If you did the preorder deal, the stuff should already be in your Warframe account. Just check to see if you have the rifle skin to verify...and I think you should start with 225 platinum instead of 150, if I remember the deal right.
Don't spend platinum on anything until you talk to us, and feel free to join us on party chat. Pretty sure you're still on my friends list from the Warhawk days.

Never mind...I'm totally confused on these anti-toxins. All I have is the Lapis, not enough for the vermillion and no real use I guess since already have the "125 points". So the Vipers come after this ends?

Master Thief seems to be garbage, but I barely did anything with it.

Loki is the best frame of the starter frames, but he isn't a great frame for beginners because you'll need some good weapons and some experience in the game to really make him shine. I'd suggest starting with Mag. She has some cool powers and a nice AOE attack.

Not sure what happened with my pre-order bonus. I had done it and had even gotten the email with "Your Pre-Order of Warframe is ready" from back in November. But after setting up my PS4 today, Warframe wasn't in my download list. Had to get it again from the store. My platinum count is only at 200 (after the PS plus starter bonus).
I'll look for that skin though next time I turn on.
What are the recommended starting out purchases?
So far I'm digging the game. It reminds me of Mass Effect gameplay just (so far) without any story.

Well, I finally built a bow. I got the Dread bp a week or so ago, and decided to build it a few days ago. With Thunderbolt and Multishot, it's fucking badass. Highly entertaining shooting multiple arrows at once and a having a good chance of causing an explosion. Really makes me anxious to build the Ogris, so that's what I'm working on now.

Welcome to the game tlwizard. You can send a friend request if you want.
Glad you're enjoying the Dread. I've maxed mine out butnot sure just how far I'll go with it (Forma and Catalyst). It's fun and all. I wouldn't say it's like the Flamethrower but it has a certain use for certain areas. Right now it's the Synaspse and Soma for me. I just did another Forma on the Synaspe and it's a beast. Like the Soma it can be used anywhere and on anything. I'm working on the Mutagen Mass now to get the Acrid.
Interesting run last night on the ODD with Chess & Gang. On paper it looked like a lose-lose team of two Oberons, Nekros and a brand new Loki yet we made it to (35). I kept throwing out Hallowed Ground and Chess kept bringing Reckoning. I might do a Forma on after all since I maxed him last night

The 11.9 patch went up last night, it's the precursor to Update 12 which will be coming out next week. One interesting thing, they added a new resource, Oxium. Right now you can only get it off of a new Osprey enemy, not sure if they are going to expand it or not. Currently it's only used for the event, once you collect 50 of them, you get a event only mod, Aviator as well as a 3 day affinity booster. Once update 12 hits, it'll be used to build new frames and weapons. It's a quick farm if you just do Xini.
Aviator seems to suck: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Aviator
But maybe it'll be useful for the upcoming "air based" frame in update 12.
I watched the last live stream, they talked about some interesting things. They are still planning on adding more systems, and one of their end goals is for every system to have a unique tileset. They will also be introducing a new enemy faction at some point. Melee 2.0 is still work in progress, it won't make it for Update 12, but should come before Update 13. We'll get the new HUD in Update 12, Earth will get the forest tileset, new frame, new weapons etc. 90% chance that Loki or Rhino will get a prime in Update 12. Loot tables for Void/Orikin missions are going to be reworked as well.

After looking into it, I think you should have:
Starter: 50 Platinum
Preorder: PlayStation Braton Rifle weapon skin, 50 Platinum, and 20,000 Credits
PS Plus: 100 Platinum, 50,000 Credits, Falcon Mod Pack, 3-Day Affinity Booster, 3-Day Credit Booster
200 is correct. So what to spend it on?
I would buy
5 packs of 2 weapons slots at 12p each: 60p
3 extra warframe slots at 20p each: 60p
2 Orokin Reactors at 20p each: 40p
2 Orokin Catalysts at 20p each: 40p
The starter rifle, pistol and sword are fine at low levels, but I don't recommend using a Catalyst on them, as it would ultimately be a waste. Your first Catalysts (commonly called potatos) should probably be for a sword called "Galatine", a rifle called "Grakata" and throwing knives called "Kunai". All are available as blueprints for crafting at low level, and all are extremely effective even into the late game.
Your four extra frame slots (if you follow my buying advice) should be filled with Rhino (parts on Venus), Nova (parts on Europa), Oberon (parts on Earth) and either Frost Prime or Mag Prime from the Orokin Void (or both if you sell Excalibur AFTER leveling him up to 30). All are craftable free of charge, and you have us to help you find parts and materials. The two Orokin Reactors mentioned above would go to Rhino and Nova.
If you follow the advice above, you can play well into the late game without ever spending a penny, and you'll find that it's pretty easy to sell mods and keys for platinum to round out your collection. I bought a $15 pack mostly just to support the game, but I haven't come close to touching that platinum yet. If you play regularly, you'll also get potatos occasionally through daily login rewards or through alert missions.
If you see me online and in-game, I'm at a point where the most entertaining thing I could do is orient you, so hit me up or join whatever party chat I'm in.

I don't think I'll ever sell a frame. Just doesn't make sense to me, especially with the game being in such a state a flux. I guess it comes down to the whole time vs money thing, which is always a case with a free to play game like this.

I'd recommend getting the Braton as quickly as possible. It only costs credits, and it does over twice the damage of the MK-1 Braton starter rifle.

Only exceptions I can think of are Frost/Ember Prime (Rare Void drops), Vaubon (only from Alerts), Banshee (random defense rewards), and Volt (not even sure where to get him [edit: 20 minute survival rewards]).
Everybody else, including Mag Prime, is super easy to get.
Now if I had a potato and forma invested in the frame, that would be another matter, but I wouldn't advise investing either in Excalibur.

You'd want to level both Bratons to 30, but I think the Grakata blueprint would be a better long-term investment, and it might even be worth a potato (high crit chance, high status chance). It looks like the best primary available until you get to mastery rank 6 and can get the Soma.

I haven't either, but based on everything I've seen, I wish I'd discovered Grakata before I got the Soma. It seems like a Soma-lite on the critical hit side but with much higher status chance for elemental effects. It's also available when you start the game.
I'm thinking about building it and giving it my spare Catalyst. It's either that, Dakra Prime, Dual Ichors or the Flux Rifle.
I have to go back to some of the starter shotguns to level them up now that I have some dependable secondaries. I just wish Boar Prime had a polarized slot or two, because I could see it being amazing.

I'd like to get a shotgun and figure the Sobek is the best bet though I'm holding out for the Bronco prime. We did what...10 Tower captures last night and nothing or at least the one part I need. I've got enough to build the Orthos Prime but it's a wait & see with Bronco. I'm ok with Orokin Cells for now (31).
Funny you mention the Grakata because I've looked at that about 4-5 times and came close to building it. Like you said it's sort of like the Soma but instead of high critical it high status so it could be a Lite Elemental gun(?).
