Afterparty looks awesome

PS+ games for October were also announced. Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19

And yeah, TLOU Part 2 looks freaking amazing. Hopefully they go radio silent up to release. I don't need to see anything more.

TLOU bored me and I gave up after a couple hours. Maybe I'll give it another shot since it's a freebie.

That's a bummer to hear. It's easily in my top three games of all time. To this day I haven't expiereced a story as impactful as that one.

Same boat. Wanted to love it, the actual gameplay mechanics did nothing for me and it didn't have the pacing of Uncharted to help me look past em. Awesome opening though.

I'll be honest, besides Uncharted 1 and the PSP game I haven't finished another Uncharted game, or TLOU. I have them all, just never got through them. That does mean I get to wait until they're super cheap before I buy them, I guess.

I put up with the gameplay in The Last of Us because I enjoyed the story although I liked the Left Behind DLC far more than the main game.

Gameplay is what ruined it for me as well.

Add me to the camp who started TLOU but didn't get more than an hour or two in. I think at the time I was burnt out on that 3rd person gameplay style. Might be worth a revisit.

Admittedly, I got about a quarter of the way through TLoU on the PS3 and quit (there was a particularly annoying stealth section I didn't like).
Tried the PS4 version, and ended up finishing it in one go (after figuring out what to do with that one segment, which was the only truly difficult segment in the game) and loving it.

This the first time that I actually own one (The Last of Us) of the Playstation Plus titles since I got my PS4 for Christmas. I'm excited about the MLB The Show though. I was going to buy it if there was a sale on Black Friday. I haven't played a baseball game on a console since Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for the N64.

Now I feel like an oddball for liking TLOU. Maybe it helped that I’d already finished the three Uncharted games so was familiar with the gameplay but not tired of it. Some of the stealth was annoying, but I’m not big on stealth anyway,

My last baseball game was The Show 16. So I’m looking forward to updating.

I didn’t finish TLOU and haven’t played any of the 4 Uncharted games.

The upgrade to the controllers sounds very cool. I've never been a fan of the PS style controllers in the first place but the tech could sway me. I'm in day 1 for the console regardless.

Yeah the new controller sounds really cool. I'm also relieved to hear about the load times and how you can install certain parts of a game (single player or multiplayer). I think Crackdown 3 tried that recently and it worked well. I'm still a little concerned with SSD hard drive space though. If they are shipping on 100GB discs space is definitely going to be limited.

As long as it's upgrade-able again (the hdd space) I'm cool with that. I assume it'd be an NVMe which is already < $200 for a 2TB at times. But that is a pretty big if, something simple like that can really fuck over a system.

I just say a prayer weekly that my PS4 Launch Model holds out till he PS5 is released....With most of the important Video Game Events come & gone, the logically reveal would be maybe the Video Game Awards or at least a teaser trailer of some sorts. CES is in January but they'll probably wait and show all in February as it's been mentioned on several sites.

Why wouldn't your PS4 make it another year? I have a launch unit as well and it shows no signs of aging.

It's still ticking even though it's had a few bumps along the way....but I've upgraded the drive and taken it apart a few times to clean it out and give it a good dusting. but with consoles, anything at anytime can happen....
