What feature? What are they talking about? I have no context or frame of reference.

Changing the ID. Apparently the original method was pretty much hard coding the PSN calls to a specific User ID instead of a more flexible API call that figured out the associated User ID to a user account.

It shouldn't be a hard fix for most software out there, but I could see how it'd wreck havoc for some -- especially those with leaderboards.

That name change option is going to help all those 30-year-old men who signed up as 15-year-old bros signing up as GirlHunter4Lyfe and FartSniper7.

You sure? Because I hear that FartSniper7 is going to be freed up, you can move up a bit from FartSniper22.

My boss set up her teen son's account, and used her name. Fortunately, it can be a unisex name, although uncommonly in the US. He's always wanted to change it.

I'm fine with mine.

Just received a 3 month Netflix credit for being a PS Plus member. Not too shabby!

Pluto TV has been around for quite a while. It's ad supported streaming, with some "live channels" to watch, but you're not getting any OTA or most cable channels. The only cable channels are a few news ones. The rest of the channels are assembled by theme. Some are based on internet sites (IGN, Nerdist, Cnet), some channels show only one specific show (MST3K, Unsolved Mysteries, etc.).

You can browse it on a PC by just visiting the website:
https://pluto.tv/

It looks like they've recently added an "On Demand" section with shows and movies. I assume it works like Vudu's "On Us" section, interrupting the stream with ads at various points.

Anyone know if this is physical only, or if it'll be available as a digital bundle as well?

Bonus question... what are some relatively new Playstation exclusives worth picking up lately? My in-laws are sending me some PSN codes (early Christmas gift I guess), and I'm not sure what to pick up... I'd prefer to spend it on some smaller games for the most part... not more stuff that'll take 40+ hours to play.

Spider-Man would fit that bill. While it is an open world game, it's relatively short. The campaign alone is around 15-20 hours, and it's something like 25-30 hours to platinum.

I have to admit that the only other PS4 exclusive I've played this year (minus stuff that's been out for a while) is God of War, so alas, my advice can't go a whole lot further.

The two top recommendation for PS4 exclusives right now has to be God of War (2018) and Marvel's Spider-Man but unfortunately is not something that you can finish really quickly or less than 40 hours.

I found Spider-Man more easy to play in small doses in completing certain missions or events and stopping, and coming back later without losing the feel of the game unlike God of War. I found it hard to get into the God of War when I didn't play it after an extended period of time.

Others like the Uncharted series or Bloodborne might take you even longer...

Are you into Golf? I haven't played it but they say Everybody's Golf is fun.

Thanks guys! God of War did interest me, despite hearing that it's long. Good to know Spider-man is on the shorter side for the main campaign at least. That piques my interest. I might pick both of those up.
Already played through all of Uncharted (except Lost Legacy or whatever it was called...), and I dumped probably 40+ hours into Bloodborne and while I kind of loved it, I always had trouble jumping back into it. I never got very far.

Golf... probably not. I did play the Golf game that launched with the Xbox One, but I'm not itching for another one.

GoW is fantastic -- and I'm the kind of person who doesn't have nearly enough time in my life to play a game like that. I've had to spread it out over several months.

Don't skip over Lost Legacy or God of War. Both are fantastic exclusives.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I love both God of War and Spider-Man, but while God of War felt more epic (and my current GOTY), Spider-Man I think is easier to pick up and play in spurts. It's so easy to swing around and do a few side missions at a time.

Days Gone is being pushed back to April 26th. February is looking at least a little less crowded!

Probably a good thing due to Anthem alone....but right after that a few weeks later is The Division 2. A few games still without a solid release window one that is rumored to come out "Spring - 2nd qtr" is another big one Rage 2..... and still nothing on Dying Light 2 or the highly anticipated games of Sucker Punch Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Pt.2...lots of great games still to come.
