Those are okay. Sony sucks so hard at controller designs. MS mops the floor with them in that department.

I would agree until this last gen. The PS4 controller is one of the best I have used.

Yeah the PS4 controller is fantastic and is much better than the Xbox controller in my opinion.

I wasn't talking about the controller itself. I was talking about the designs/color choices.

I have some credit to burn so let me ask a question. Is the PS4 Pro worth the upgrade over a standard PS4? Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

if you have a 4k HDR tv and can get a good deal on a trade in, I think so. after my trade in (and other controllers/games), it was only about $150 out of pocket. not bad for owning the ps4 for 2 years.

Thanks! With the Gamestop credit I already have, plus they are offering $50 more credit if you trade in a current system, I will be awful close to the $399 price point.

Hard to believe that five years ago yesterday Sony announced the PS4....that long already.

Feels like it's been out for a while now. There have been a lot of graphical advances since then, my < $800 laptop now runs better than all the dedicated consoles on the market, which makes me think the next generation should be pretty solid in the VR and 4K departments granted they get the cryptocurrency demand under control.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I still think we'll be in this console generation for awhile. If the XB1X costs $500 as it is now, it would be hard to launch into next gen at a reasonable price. $400 is really going to be the sweet spot ($500 would be the max) and unfortunately I think a lot of people are going to see sticker shock since the Switch can be had for $300 (although it's not really a fair comparison). I think we'll see next gen roll out in 2020.

The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X definitely extend the life of the current generation a few more years.

That's my guess too.

The PS4 and XB1 consoles both use GPUs integrated into the SoC, so they're not as susceptible to the cryptocurrency demand.

The only reason prices on dedicated graphics cards have spiked in price is because the manufacturers don't want to ramp up manufacture, because they're anticipating the bottom to fall out of cryptocurrency mining, and the market to get flooded with pre-used cards.

You mean the XB1X is $500. The XB1S is $230, and the XB1 isn't being sold anymore.

Sony could launch a new console a year or more earlier than MS, since the PS4 Pro came out a year before the XB1X, and is only $400. I'd figure 3 years from the "mid generation refresh" each company did, so maybe 2019 for Sony, and 2020 for MS, unless Sony waits for MS so that there isn't another huge hardware performance disparity like with the PS4 Pro and XB1X. But on the other hand, there's something to be said for launching a year before your competition.

I sure hope so. I bought a Project Scorpio XBox One X in November, a Nintendo Switch in December, and just bought a PS4 Pro two weeks ago. My gaming budget is now down to zero. (Except for games of course)

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Sega’s Yakuza 6 demo accidentally included the full game:
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/...the-full-game/
A demo version of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life released for the PlayStation 4 yesterday surprisingly included access to the entire game for many players, well before its official release outside of Japan. Sega has taken down the demo temporarily as it works to correct the issue.
People who had downloaded the demo before it was taken down can play the full game, and Sega is going to make sure these demo saves transfer to the "proper" full game.

It looks like it has a God of War themed Move controller spray painted on it.

Spoiler:
Yea...I saw that and was like...that looks really cheesy for such a highly anticipated and promoted game. But frankly a lot of the game theme S.E have been been so-so compared to the slap-on decals variations you can get.

Sony giving away a free theme for International Women's Day, it's not up in the US store yet but here's an article about it:

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/03...al-womens-day/

Pretty cool, but you go from left to right and one character just sticks out like a sore thumb...

Sounds like Days Gone is being pushed to 2019.
