I'm not looking to get a full over ear headset. Are there any single side products that upgrade the audio quality over the stock microphone? I'm open to a wired replacement that connects to controller, or Bluetooth.

My bundle had the physical copy of Uncharted. Out of curiosity, why are people preferring that? Because you can re-sell it? Because it's that much less HDD space eaten up by a game?

I believe the HDD space taken up by the install is the same whether it's physical or digital. Really the only differences between a physical game and a digital game this gen is that the physical game needs to have the disc in the console to play, and you can re-sell the physical copy.

I haven't read or heard much on the single ear w/mic. Before grabbing my Skullcandy Player 1 set I used just a Android ear bud /mic and it worked fine. Friends said they could hear me good and small and simple. Might check for something like that.

I probably would have preferred the digital copy of Uncharted, since I can see myself going back to that series regularly. But yeah, I assume people like to trade in games.

I prefer disc copy if it's a large game. That way I can uninstall it for space, then have it reinstalled off of disc in about 15 minutes and patched too, as opposed to a 5+ hour download.

Beta for 3.50 Update

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/...ures-detailed/

Our beta program for PlayStation 4’s next major system software update, version 3.50 (codenamed MUSASHI), kicks off tomorrow. If you signed up for the beta and were selected, keep an eye on your email for instructions on downloading.

Regardless of whether you’re in the beta, we wanted to detail some of the key features we’re adding to PS4 in this update. We’re making it easier to play together with friends and adding the ability to appear offline when you’d rather play solo.

New Social Features

Friend Online Notification – Want to know the moment your friends come online? With this update, you can, as we’ve added an option to be notified when members of your friends list sign on the network.

Appear Offline – Sometimes you want to play a game or watch a movie without being bothered by friends. Now it’s easier to go incognito as we’ve added the option to appear offline. You can designate if you would like to appear offline when you log-in or at any time from your Profile or the Quick Menu
.
User Scheduled Event – Time for a play date! We’ve added the ability to schedule a future gameplay session with your friends on the system. When your event starts, users who registered for the event will automatically be added to a party so you can start playing right away.

Play Together – This features allows all members of a Party to see what each person is playing so that you can easily join a friend’s game, or start a new game together.

Other New System Features

Remote Play (PC/Mac) – We’re bringing PS4 Remote Play to Windows PC and Mac. This feature won’t be available to test in the beta, but you can look forward to it soon.

Dailymotion – With this update, you’ll be able to live stream directly to Dailymotion on PS4. We’ll also support archiving live broadcasts, like we do for other streaming services.

Stay tuned for more details on MUSASHI, including additional key features and its release date.
Scheduled events are cool.

Dumb question, do foreign controllers work on US Playstations? I'm kinda tired of waiting for the gold/silver ones and was thinking about importing one.

Please correct me if I'm wrong ... but even with the DLNA media server implementation for the PS4, there's still no way to stream DTS audio, correct? And I mean stream it so that DTS comes out (not transcoding DTS into something else).

Correct. The same issue is on the Xbox One, since there is an extra fee associated with DTS you're SOL.

So I finally upgraded my hard-drive to 2TB. While it wasn't at all a "difficult" process, it was/is a fucking pain in the ass. What with having to to copy each save individually, and then re-download all games and patches and DLC - I'm still going through the process now, and it's gonna take more than a few days. I guess in the long run, not having to constantly swap out games for hard-drive space will be worth it. You would think they'd give a huge hard-drive as it would be incentive for people to buy more shit - I doubt the average person would upgrade their HDD - the cost of the extra gigs would be more than offset by all the extra stuff people would buy if they had the room for it.

Yep. Not gonna lie, Microsoft did it better.

But, on the other side, PS4 is WAY better at installing and letting you start your game a lot quicker than the XbOne does.

I was going to add that, the installation process is so much better on the PS4. Inexcusably so.

Any thoughts on Playstation Vue? Is it worth it? One of the things that has bugged me from Sony is that they haven't embraced the app movement with their systems. I would love if they added apps/channels like ESPN where I could watch the program with my Dish Network account. I wonder if they have held this back because of the impending Playstation Vue release.

There's a discussion thread on PlayStation Vue in Streaming Talk.

Playstation VR - $400 in October

http://kotaku.com/playstation-vr-wil...400-1765094935

The Occulus and Vive are much more expensive, and also have beefier PC requirements. I'm curious how this works and compares.

I was hoping it would come in less than $400, like closer to $300. I guess we'll see some games at E3.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Am I reading this right? It'll track the rotation of your head (turn left, turn right, etc), but it won't track actual position or movement (leaning, tilting, whatever you want to call it)? I think the first version of the Oculus was like that... but I can see that being a problem. If what you see doesn't match all of your head movements, then motion sickness can be more prevalent.

$400 is an excellent price, though. I wish I didn't sell my PS Move

edit: maybe I'm wrong. It uses the PS Camera (sold separately), which must track that stuff. Nevermind.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

So it's $400 plus the price of the existing PS camera? I think I'll wait to see if anyone I know gets it so I can try it first.

I realize this is supposed to be the holy grail of gaming but when you include the cost of the camera this add-on more than doubles the price of the system.
