The 1TB model will be sold in Europe.
http://www.engadget.com/2015/06/22/p...timate-player/
On its European blog, the company revealed that its new "Ultimate Player Edition" PS4 with double storage will debut across Europe on July 15th. There's no word on a wider release just yet, but given the model has already appeared in an FCC filing, a US launch seems inevitable.
A 1TB console isn't the only announcement to come out of Sonyland this morning though.
The company has tweaked the design of its 500GB model to make it 10 percent lighter and 8 percent more power efficient than before. Hardly a major overhaul, but PlayStation fans will note that the glossy top cover has also been replaced with a "more casual" matte finish.
Thirdly, Sony has updated its not-so-hot PlayStation app for iOS and Android today with a couple of nifty features.
The first is the ability to enter PSN gift cards and promotional codes, so you no longer have to power on your PS4 to redeem them.
The second is the option to display comments on your phone or tablet while you're broadcasting from the console -- perhaps a simpler way to keep your streaming setup neat and tidy.

Playstation Vue came to my area, so I've been doing the 7 day trial. It's not perfect but it's a whole lot better than dealing with cable and the price isn't bad for what you get. I'm going to go paid when the trial ends and see if Apple can do something better, but until then, I'm enjoying it.

What's amazing about all those new TV services is I sort of forgot about having more channels after a few weeks. (I've been using Sling)

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong
Tried the PS4 Media Player with the PS3 Media Server. And while it works great, and plays everything I throw at it, it doesn't seem to have as good upscaling as the PS3 does, if it even has any. So while actual HD content looks great, SD content looks WAY better streamed on the PS3 than it does streamed on the PS4. So with that, and a lack of a good remote, I'm still sticking with the PS3 for now. Though I'm sure those issues will be addressed soon enough.
I guess I just have to be patient. I think there are lots of people in my situation ... waiting for streaming to the PS4 to be as fully functional as it was to the PS3. That means supporting HD quality video from mkv, subtitles, multiple audio tracks, DTS, etc. I'm counting on people with the technical know-how to be working on it. If anyone hears of any solutions, please post it.

I was going to try Sling but the lack of DVR functionality was enough to keep me away. Vue fixes that problem. It's not perfect but it's pretty darn good.

That PSN link seems broken? Plus are the servers going to go down immediately?

Driveclub link was working, but now the Playstation Plus version seems to be gone from the store entirely.

It should be, 1tb hdds don't weigh anymore than 500gb ones, or if they do it's very insubstantial.

Anyone else have this problem with playstation plus? When it's time for new games to download I'll go to the playstation plus page, and when I try to look at the list of all games that are free, instead it will only show me the 3 options to buy playstation plus. It's like it doesn't really realize I already have it. SO I have to search for the games myself and then download them.

Yeah, the interface is pretty dumb. My workaround is to just "buy" everything from store.playstation.com and then download them from the PS4.
