I am playing Contrast right now and I think the part about it being next-gen, other than the resolution and steady frame rate, is the lighting effects. I'm not so sure that they could pull that off in the current generation. A quirky puzzle game with a cool gameplay element.

I know that and I understand that it isn't the next-gen we will see in a few months but it is still cool and receives the visual bump from being on the new systems. Also, you can't beat free!

Thanks. I thought that was it but I couldn't get it to work well. Online Killzone is pretty hard when you can't run or melee.

I broke the news to my online Diablo III buddy last night (360) I got a PS4 and they were somewhat sad. I told them I'd still play Diablo III but that will be it for the 360 for awhile.

They asked and I said I just felt more will be coming to the PS4 in terms of games and exclusives...evening mentioning that Diablo III has only been confirmed for the PC and PS4 for now...nothing on the 360 or XO and even Blizzard has said..."one platform at a time" as to when the new add-on will come.


Well it looks like another big one might join the ranks....

EverQuest Next coming to PS4? ....Sony Online Entertainment boss says "I can't wait to see it on the PS4."

I do. How do I get the cloud file to load? Today was different. Every time I hit the Options button on the main screen I'd get the error message and it'd close. I logged out of PSN, started BF4, then logged back in. Then, for the first time, I was able to play MP for about 10 minutes until it knocked me out. There's some message about "they're working on it" on the main screen, so I guess I'll wait...

You have to go under system the system settings, delete your save file from the hard drive, and download your other save file from the PS+ cloud storage to the hard drive. Overall it was pretty easy, just annoying that it even happened in the first place.

I finished up Knack. A solid platformer with an interesting item system. If you have friends who have Knack gadgets and relics unlocked when you get a treasure chest you can choose the item you got or one of the one's they got. Otherwise it would take you multiple playthroughs to start unlocking stuff. I chose ruby crystals everytime and I was able to unlock Vampire Knack upon completion of the game.

I think it is completely understandable. Gamers have been waiting on this console for a long time and they paid a big chunk of cash for it. I would certainly be upset and probably throw a hissy fit. I remember getting my 360 on launch day in 2005 only for it to be faulty. I was certainly pissed off.

Folks here are making a lot of hay over "lack of launch titles" on PS4, but the truth is that the market is plenty crowded at launch, and most first party titles will be crowded out by third party anyway. And for those who thought it was that important, one million consoles sold in 24 hours beg to differ.

Sony consoles always finish better than they start, and they have shown generation after generation that they are committed to supporting their consoles throughout their lives with quality first party content. Published by Sony in 2013 for PS3/PS4: Sly Cooper, God of War, Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, Puppeteer, Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone, Knack...plus PS gets a lot of exclusive Japanese titles just because.

2014 on PS4 will look something like this:

February: Driveclub
March: Infamous
April/May: Watch Dogs (exclusive content)
Summer: The Order 1886 and exclusive Destiny beta
Fall: Uncharted 4, Destiny (exclusive content?) and whatever they announce at VGAs and E3

Still no word on Sony Santa Monica (their biggest studio), Sony Bend or Media Molecule, amongst others.

Not sure if this is a glitch or intentional but I'm not able to look at screenshots in my feed for games I don't own. When I tried to look at BF4 pictures last night it was just prompting me to buy the game.

Yep. Paying that much for a useless hunk of plastic is worthy of getting pissed off. People won't handle it well once they get behind their internet shield, but still, being mad about it is perfectly acceptable.

I know some here might not care for Diablo III:Reaper of Souls coming to the PS4 but Gamereactor over in the UK talked with Matthew Berger, level designer on the Diablo III console team who had this to say on the technical part of the PS4....

"It's native 1080p. It looks gorgeous. We've added new shaders. We've spruced up the graphic engine. We've updated the lighting models so it's going to look a lot sharper."

When asked whether it's on par with PC or even better, Berger had this to say:

"I am told quite convincingly by our lead gameplay engineer that some of the stuff we've added to console is being taken back to PC. (laughter) So you know... Because... We're one big team. So we talk with one another. And sometimes we'll do something and we're "aww, yeah we should put that on PC", and often they do a ton of stuff and go "yeah, that's absolutely coming to console", so there's a lot of cross pollination."

I never would have guessed when they announced the two initial PS+ games for PS4 (Contrast & Resogun) that the one I would end up digging would be Resogun. Contrast on the other hand sucks. From the moment I was put in control of the character I knew it wasn't looking good. I haven't played a game that controlled this poorly in a long time. The only thing the game has going for it is it's artstyle. The game is not fun to play and the story is lackluster. If you're looking for a "arty" platformer/puzzler I'd recommend Rain or Papa y Yo over this junk.
