re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I did notice when I took my system up how scratched up that glossy part is. Hopefully they'll start selling some customized replacements as it's just a piece of plastic that slides off easily.

And yes, I agree with the Library feature, it is easier to not store tons on your HDD, but I still like having the flexibility to play any of several games at a moment's notice and certain games like TLU take up 45 GB of space with is more than 10% of the total available space to begin with.

LOL, isn't that what they said about Playstation Now pricing?!

The bundle will have Fox's sports channels, like Fox Sports 1, but not Fox News

The big difference for me is the "Library". On PS3, it was a chore to dig through my download history and wait for all the updates, but now all my games are right there with a download button...including a few that I'd like to be able to delete from the library (alphas and betas).
One of the main draws of a digital library, to me, is to be able to pick up and play on a whim, without even having to change disks. If I have to redownload the game, redownload the updates, and install, forget it. Also, it probably helps stay organized when there are so few games on the system, my PS3 library of games is almost unmanageable.

As for the Sony TV thing... without DVR technology (and a separate hard drive for that), I can't see the use, even if you didn't want ESPN or anything Disney. The only thing I still watch live these days is sports anyway.

I thought they were talking about a digital DVR of sorts on that, like what Aereo did.

Just got the Platinum on Peggle 2. Some of those challenges were brutal.

It's too bad that they couldn't do a decal or colour change for the GTA bundle as I'm sure that would have been a big sell for some people.

Apple Earbuds/Pods work with the controller, right? I lost the cheap OEM buds that came with the PS4. Need a quick backup for when my Gold Wireless' battery dies in the middle of a Destiny raid.

I see no reason why not as long as you are connecting via a 3.5mm connection

I'm pretty sure chess said they didn't work when he tried them at launch. That was a year ago though.

Pretty sure audio works but not chat (if you're using the iPhone version of the ear buds).

Yes, iPhone. Darn, ok thanks. Will have to look for another cheap alternative. Any suggestions?

The crappy ear bud that came with the system perhaps?

Very mixed results due to Apple using a slightly different pin arrangement on their buds. Based on my multiple tests, all iPhone buds technically work. All of my newer iPhone buds send out an incredibly irritating high pitched noise that you don't hear if you're using them, but everybody else does (looking at you Bus ). And some of my older iPhone buds work fine but have to be replugged every now and then, I assume because they are just barely making a connection.

Anything Android, Blackberry, etc will work fine. If you want to test them out, you can record voice messages in your PS4 messages and listen to them without sending them.

FWIW, I picked up a pair of these a few weeks back for $20 at Best Buy, and even though they're made for WiiU, the volume and mute work perfectly. I like em quite a bit:

Turtle Beach N11

I'm guessing the WiiU label is why I got them on clearance.

Nope, I missed that in your note. I was busy this morning.

I've used the same headsets I listen to music with (Sol Republic, SOUL Electronics) and they worked okay.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Might pick up a Gold Wireless headset at Black Friday. Gamestop will have them for $69 but I am hoping others will price match.

In other news, are there any kid/party games out there (over a year later!) that support the camera? I thought my girls might like it but I won't bother if its still just the Playroom.

I highly recommend the Gold Wireless headset at that price. It's a really good product and the sound is surprisingly good for voice chat.

@mew The only one I can think of is Just Dance 2015.

And I also recommend the Wireless Gold. The only con for me is the battery life could be longer. Seems I have to recharge after 6-8 hours of use across a few play sessions.
