Well that 5th character is an unexpected but welcome choice.
Here's hoping you don't have to play through the entire game before getting the challenging levels. That was one of the weakest things about the Galaxy games.

I'm good, ha!
Another review from a place called Lazy Tuesday...

I know that reviews from places like this don't mean much to most of you, but it's still interesting to see to me.
Here is a live stream of someone playing it in Japan right now...

I never thought I'd say this, but... Super Mario 3D World is easily on par with the Super Mario Galaxy titles and is hands down the best multiplayer Mario adventure that has ever graced a Nintendo system. Around every bend is a new power-up, a new enemy, a new way to play Mario that you could never imagine. It's hard not to smile when you're riding an enormous dinosaur though a secret waterfall, all while dressed as a cat. Super Mario 3D World is wacky, fun, and throughly enjoyable. It's easily the best title for the Wii U to date and one of the greatest adventures in Mario's star-studded history.

It'll be close, Bioshock: Infinite has a 95.94% average and GTA V has a 97% average.

On one hand I'm upset this had to come out at such a busy time but looking at those scores this will be far more enjoyable than most launch games for the new systems.

I ordered this, then canceled it to see if it would be available at rental, but after seeing that list of reviews, have re-ordered it. Damn it.

only problem is, i will, i'll play mario for a bit, then be completely bored with the system, since there isn't anything else i want on it. now if there were another zelda game available (new property, not remake), that would be a different story.

This is Mario like you’ve never seen him before, and unlike so many of his next-gen rivals, he nips along at an effortless 60fps. If the true measure of new hardware’s worth is how stark the difference is between it and what came before, then this is the most next-gen game that 2013 has yet produced.

Amazing.
This too...
It's almost a little embarrassing to talk about Nintendo embracing high-definition when the rest of the industry jumped that hurdle almost a decade ago, but on occasion 3D World makes everyone else look like they've been doing it all wrong. It's testament to EAD's genius, then, that it hasn't settled for just using new technological heft to tart up what we'd already explored on 3DS: those good looks have allowed for some new game ideas, too.

"The yearly holiday battle for the living room has begun in earnest now that the PlayStation 4 is out, and the Xbox One is only days away, but come November 22nd, the best game on any next-gen console will be Super Mario 3D World, and Nintendo might finally stand a chance to compete."

In a year's time, I might pick up a WiiU if I can get a cheap bundle with this Mario game or something. It looks really fun, and I absolutely agree it's going to better than anything on the Xbox One or PS4 launch.

Not going to purchase a Wiiu just for one game. When this console gets 3-4 more games that are worth playing then it will justify spending $300 to get one.

Many people would say that there are more than 3-4 games worth playing already. Maybe not for you, but certainly more than that worth playing overall on the system. I own more than that and there is still a handful I haven't even gotten to yet.

Watch this Gamespot 60fps review and allow it to push you over the edge...

The YouTube videos look great, but this is amazing. It's going to look incredible in person.

Re: Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) Time to dust off your Wii U!
This game has changed the conversation from "I'm not buying the Wii U to play Zelda and Pikmin" to "I'm getting a Wii U to play SM3DW. I'll also get to play Zelda, Pikmin and try that Wonderful 101" game.
Well done, Nintendo.
