Anyone play the first episode?

I was a bit shocked at the end of the episode when Snow was killed. Even though I haven't read the comics, I was under the impression that she has a large part in the series.


In my opinion, yet another great game from Telltale.

Ordered it from Green Man Gaming for 20% off, and Telltale support converted the key to a Steam key for me. Can't wait to play this weekend, i'm about 25 issues into the actual comic.

She does play a large part in the series. This is either diverging from the comic continuity or she will come back to life. This is a magical fantasy series so anything can happen.

In the world of Fable, fables that are well-remembered will come back to life if killed. Fables that are not well-remembered (Donkeyskin) do not. It's sort of a cop-out.

Just finished the first episode. Pretty solid, felt a bit short but Steam says I've played for about 2 hours. It's definitely got me interested to see what happens in the next episodes, and I like the murder mystery aspect of this game. What were the choices that everyone made?

Spoiler:
I gave Faith the money.
Told Crane no one was to blame.
Went to Toad first.
Did not prevent Prince Lawrence's death.
Went after Tweedle Dee instead of the Woodsman.

Now i'm curious about saving Lawrence.

Just finished episode 1...very enjoyable. Looks like they are encouraging players to go through a couple times and make different choices for all the achievements this time: there's one for unlocking all the "Book of Fables" entries, and I have one missing.

Possibly dumb question, but I purchased the season pass for this a while back (360). Tonight I went to play it and couldn't find it in my games. I checked purchases and found the season pass, but it says I still have to purchase the first episode.

Is that correct? This is my first time doing the season pass thing.

In general a season pass should cover everything. However, in this specific case for the 360, the season pass for Wolf Among Us is for episodes 2-5 ($15). A separate purchase of episode 1 ($5) is required.

I purchased it for the PS3, and it was $20 for all episodes (1-5)

The missing one can be obtained by replaying the last checkpoint. During the fight with that creature at the bar, you either rip his arm off, or you don't. That will unlock the corresponding Book of Fables.

So I just played this. Damn. That's a really cool world. I had a harder in deciding what to say in here than in TWD. I don't think it was better than TWD but it is more interesting to me cuz of the concept.

I KNOW of Fables but never picked it up. Guess now would be a good time to do so. Are both the game and the comic alike in tone?

Also... Little stupid thing for me but I love the menu. Cool music with Bigby walking about.

Haven't played the game yet but a few years ago I used to say this is the most diverse comic out there. You had heist stories, love stories, detective stuff, comedy, even stuff to do with WWII. There are also spin off comics and actual books set in the world. Check out at least the first three trades.

I bought this after playing thru the first episode today due to the sale and now I really want to check out the comic series.

I really enjoyed this and The Walking Dead series that was like this. I guess it is due to the dozens of "Choose your own adventure" books I devoured as a kid in the early '80's. Any other games like these two series on the 360 or PS3 that I have missed?

Nice Snake.

Spiderbite you might enjoy Heavy Rain (different studio) , that's a bigger scale game that follows a few characters and their choices. Not exactly like this but also has different outcomes and intertwining stories. Also the Telltale guys made the Back to the Future game but I'm not sure if it's as choice oriented.

I loved the comic after reading much of it prior to playing the game.

They need to hurry up with Episode 2, damn it.

Yeah, I have played Heavy Rain and I pretty much enjoyed it. I am playing Alan Wake right now and am kinda disappointed in it so far. I thought there would be decision making in it but it is mostly point & click and has a poor combat system.

I have wanted to check out the BTTF game and didn't know it was made by the same people as Wolf and Walking Dead. Thanks for the help.

I enjoyed several of the Sam and Max episodes as well, but those are less story driven and more traditional puzzle/adventure games.

I picked up the free one, then figured for $10.85 it was worth to pick up the season pass. Only downside is I wanted to sell my 360 at some point early next year, but I guess that's not going to happen. :lol:

DAMN! I thought all of this was already out for some reason. I really enjoyed the first episode, and it was great exploring the big record room in a real environment, since that's seen a lot in the comics.

Finished Episode 1 tonight, really dug the story and atmosphere. I've never heard of the comic before, might look into it now.

Ended up buying the season pass too.
