Any criticism for Xbox One is well deserved, and it's obvious to any person capable of comparing one thing to another. |

Everyone keeps mentioning Titanfall but when was the last mech game to have a huge success?
Mech games always seem to be more niche than mass. |

Mech games always seem to be more niche than mass. What's funny is they finally found a way to make these games appeal to Japanese audiences, on a console not yet announced for release in Japan. That said I really want to play it, but will purchase it for the Xbox 360. |
Re: Official E3 Thread of Microsoft's Self-Inflicted Misery (June 10-13, 2013)
It could be mediocre, and it might not do well in the market (as a launch exclusive for a console with a lot of negative buzz), but it showed better than any exclusive in the show and better than any multi-platform games other than Watch Dogs and Destiny. If it plays like it shows, it could even drive X1 sales.
I'll be interested in seeing what exclusives Naughty Dog and Quantic Dreams have in store for PS4, as they are Sony's best teams along with maybe Santa Monica, but I understand why they didn't show anything given that they still have Last of Us and Beyond releasing for PS3. |

If it was mentioned in this thread, I missed it... But Battlefront 3 bitches!!!

All the word about Titanfall on the 360 is that its being done with "help from another developer" though. I'm curious how it will even compare, or if it will just be a simple port by the time it's released on the One/PC in 2014.

In an interview with Famitsu.com, director Tetsuya Nomura noted that the announcement for the first official numbered sequel in nearly 8 years since Kingdom Hearts 2 may have been somewhat premature. "There have been a lot of spin-off games since Kingdom Hearts 2 and a lot of fans were probably getting anxious, so we made the announcement together with Final Fantasy XV." Nomura stated, adding, "Considering where we are in development, it may have been a little early." According to Nomura, the visual direction of the game has been mostly solidified into what we saw in the teaser. Like FFXV, the development team is currently using the Luminous Studio engine to make an over-spec version of the game that can subsequently be ported to the PS4 and Xbox One. Due to technical difficulties, a realtime rendering of the battle sequence at the end of the teaser could not be shown at E3 and had to be pre-rendered, but Nomura assures that, "When you actually see the game running in realtime, it'll look almost exactly the same." |

I never said the criticism for the One isn't deserved. But that doesn't mean your comment to discostu1337 was deserved when all he did was mention that Killer Instinct was pretty fun at the show, a thought shared by more then just him from the reactions i've seen online. And given that you've already said those same things about your thoughts on whether Killer Instinct will be a success before, it just seems like you're railing on him. Yeah he's been pro-One, but nothing wrong with him sharing his thoughts of a game from the actual show floor.

How relevant is Square these days?
They're still a big name developer, I suppose, and they have some famous franchises, but they don't seem good enough to justify how quirky and slow they are with development cycles. Good job taking 5 years to make the 5th best JRPG this year. [/hyperbole] |

Titanfall may come to PS4 they are saying so it looks like it might just be a timed exclusive for the Xbox.

[/hyperbole] Looking at their upcoming games it's literally: Final Fantasy X/X-2 (Vita, PS3) Final Fantasy XV (Xbox One, PS4) Kingdom Hearts III (Xbox One, PS4) Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, X360) They need to hurry up and get the new Legacy of Kain out. Also I remember how much shit Destructoid got for their Final Fantasy XIII review when it was first published (a 4 out of 10), and it's funny seeing all the current comments which simply state "You were right." |

That way, we can actually talk about relevant things in here, and let people who want to enjoy the new XBOX talk in that thread without being insulted every 5 minutes? |
