Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC -- 5/20/2014)

I'm playing my first run on uber (step above normal). I was tempted at times to turn it down a notch or two so I could finish it and play Watch Dogs. Now with everything I read about that game I don't even really care to play it so I'm going to keep at it. I'm really enjoying the game.

I'm still at normal and for me a few places in the game I would find it difficult to play a step above. I'm heading into the last levels just defeating the one mega boss. "The "Moon" was blast to play...the only thing missing was Vadar and light sabers. The game has been a real surprise everywhere. Not sure if I'll play a second thru or not....a lot depends on what E3 and the rest of the month might bring. A solid (9 of 10) in my book.

Good one above...

FWIW I did get my $25 cert from B.B email yesterday. I wasn't sure if they would add the extra $5 or not but they did. Now to figure out on which game....leaning to pre-order The Last of Us since I never played it (came over from the 360)

Got my platinum on this last night. Game was fantastic. Second only to Watch Dogs as the best game I have played since Black Flag. What a great one two punch those games have been after the disappointment that was Infamous for me.

A weird glitch that came up while I was playing the game. The old guy is suppose to be in the driver seat instead of popping out of the truck

Just beat it on medium and the Wyatt timeline. Fantastic shooter, best I've played in awhile! Now to try it on Uber with the Feargus storyline and hopefully get my first platinum. We'll see about that... I fully intended to do that with Infamous but couldn't bring myself to want to play through that again. This is probably my favorite game I've played on the PS4 so far.

For all of us who got the Doom Beta....just a very small taste of what could be coming. More to be shown at Quakecon...

Just finished this up too. One of the better games I've played as of late. Going to tinker around with it to pick up some achievements then trade it towards Watch Dogs I guess. I'm definitely glad I played it.

I'm doing my second run through on Uber, trying to get all the collectibles and hopefully all the perks. It's been challenging for sure but not too bad, I'm just trying to be as stealthy as possible. Just getting to the prison level though so I have a ways to go.

Compared to "normal" how much more difficult is Uber? I still have the tail end of the game to finish....right there where the Nazis raided the Safe House. Nothing is coming it looks like till The Last of Us end of July so probably have time for a second run.

The damage from enemies is greatly increased, so I think if I was playing like I did on my first run through I'd be dying a lot more. There have been parts that have given me a much harder time, like the part just before the prison when you're with Anya and her grandpa, and run into the two robots. Other places actually seemed easier but I was also doing better and shooting from behind cover, and sneaking around and flanking the bad guys, trying to take out the commanders before they call reinforcements.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC -- 5/20/2014)

haven't done this in awhile, but i need help:

I am in the beginning Chapter 3: A New World. i get out of the truck, go into a pipe, pick some stuff up, go up the sewers, take one guy out stealthily, but that whole compound and i suck at killing the flying robots gets me and can't get past this area. i've also found a nice sniper rifle, but that still alerts guards when i don't get direct headkill.

any tips on getting past this early area? also, doing it on medium difficulty...

thanks in advance (and sorry to hijack the thread like this).

You should have a silencer for the pistol by that point. Right on the D-pad (I think, maybe it's Left on the D-pad) toggles it on or off. Use the silenced pistol.

Also look for commanders and take them out first, as they are the ones that call for backup.

What helped me was getting to the second building. I went the back way right past the small shack. Take out the two guards with the silencers and make your way inside. You should be able to take out two or three including the Commander. If the Bots come you have cover inside down stairs & upstairs plus lots of ammo and health packs. That should leave the one out front walking back and forth, take the pipe near the crates out front and wait for a easy head shot....Don't forget to look for the hidden goodies...they are around in that area...

Ye...that spot got to me several times. I had no problem with the first couple right there but that stupid commander is way on the other side. That Silencer Pistol will be one of your best friends.

i think i got it this time, but really love a good sniper rifle and thought that would do the trick with some distance, but fuck me i can never get a head shot without alerting someone.

You'll get a nest sniper rifle later on and it comes in handy to except ammo is scarce for it. The Shotgun is one of the best to me and dual weld you're basically a Meat Grinder

you know i love a good shotgun too, but this seems like a distance shooting game so far and though i have one, don't see the need for it. does it come in more handy later in the game?

Seems like a big difficulty spike later in the game. Was cruising along through the first 10 or so levels then hit level 12 and 13 and dying a lot. The train level and the level after that (don't want to spoil the location).

I hope gamers don't sleep on this great game! Loved everything 'bout it: Story, graphics, gameplay, perk system. Just a great FPS. The brutality and even some explicit stuff [B.J. you lucky bastard!) was awesome. Got all 1000G... hope they make another one.

Congrads on getting all 1000G....still have to finish the last part but it has been a real solid game...better than the critic scores I saw. Still debating on second playthru, working on Diablo III (360) with Reaper of Souls coming in mid August and have The Last of Us at end of July. A Pt.II Wolfenstein would be nice...
