I should say something. Maybe they'll give me a gift card anyway. I bet I don't even get the $5 one. My Best Buy is run by simpletons.

Don't know the half of it....

I went to BB to get my copy.I handed the girl my receipt...which happened to have both Wolfenstein and Destiny pre-orders on it and said, "I'm here to get my pre-order today". She takes the receipt and goesin the back and asks, "where is the Destiny game", I hear "I dunno". She then goes to the gaming area where I watch in amazement asking some other workers and she then comes back, "that game has been postpone and not coming out till September". I tell her it's for Wolfenstein and not Destiny. She has this blank stare for about 5 seconds and off again she goes, comes back with the game and I finally leave after about 20 minutes in front of the Customer Service booth.

Sounds like your fault for not saying which game since 2 were listed....

Downloading from psn was not to bad, it downloaded 5gb first so I could start the game, and the rest in the background.

Yup, there's a sign up at Customer Service. It's an e-Gift Card that will be sent out by 5/27/14

They took $5 off my order instantly, so I dunno. Maybe it's regional.

Hmmm.... Maybe that's because you didn't preorder. They can't send a e-Gift Card to people who buy the game at the counter today because they might not even have an email address.

Maybe so. Still cool they actually set it to where it comes off automatically. I had $20 in reward certs, too, so the $20 wasn't missed very much anyway.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC -- 5/20/2014)

This game doesn't want to install for some reason. I got the Xbone version and I started the install like any other game. Half an hour later, there's no progress bar or percentage showing. I try and check the apps and games section, and it locks up the dashboard to where I can't move anything or turn off the system with the controller.

So I turn off the system and turn it back on and it's the same issue. Then I took the disc out, did a hard reset, and it came back on to a black screen after the Xbone logo. Then I did another hard reset and it came back up but said the install was stopped.

So now I'm trying it again. The drive is very loud while installing it. I can hear it two rooms away. Just a loud buzzing noise.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC -- 5/20/2014)

Platform - PS4

Ok...played a good bit last night...up to the point where BJ uses "The Appliance"...that be the chainsaw...to get info out of the Nazi scumbag and he scene where the old man blows the head off of a Nazi soldier after opening the trunk.

Gameplay...I'm liking it so far but I just started the "1960" era after playing the "1946". It's pretty cool story part of how they started that out with a actual mission that sets the stage for the game...14 years later after BJ finally wakes up.

It's straight out FPS so far with various weapons all of which can be dual weld; a neat added onslaught ability but you can chew thru ammo fast...but bodies and parts do fly...lots of blood. Do so much of one style like throwing knives you get a perk boost. The "Loot System" is a bit of old school where you do have to hit the pickup button instead of automatic getting it. There is plenty to get but you kill a lot of Nazis so it's there...health, ammo, head & chest armor and a "Health Boost" for a limited time.

The "Special Items" you do have to look around and with a small center you can pass something up if you look around to quickly. It's a neat touch when you have to open something by touching two wires using the left and right thumbsticks to move your hands in order to make a connection.

Look and Visuals....It looks good to me with some good detail thru out the game but not breathtaking. I've played BF4, Killzone and Infamous on the PS4. Killzone's lighting technique were some of the best I've ever seen period. The detail and effects in Infamous outstanding. BF4 looked the best it ever has. Each with something that really made the game a stand out. Wolfenstein has a lets say more of a "edge & grit" look than a polished one.

Almost like having a TV with a notch or two more in "Sharpness & Contrast" and a notch or two less in "Color Saturation & Blending"....almost a throwback to old shooters but with far more detailed surroundings. But...it sort of fits the game with Nazi's in control a "Brick, Mortar & Stone" with blacks & grey doomsday atmosphere.

I'll report more after playing he "1960's"....but so far it's fun.

I installed this last night but with my school's graduation and eating dinner afterwards with a friend and his graduate son I just didn't have time to actually play it. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with this but I just can't fathom where we go from here in terms of file sizes for games when this game, that isn't even the best looking one, is already pushing 60 gbs.

Gamespot has (61) user ratings with an average 8.4. But out of those 42 rate it either a 9 or 10.

Yea...I'm not sure...or worried at the moment about the game install sizes yet. I guess for those who use their system for more than games...videos and music files might have to. On the plus side we can take our HD out and exchange it ourselves. I figure with later down the road with Destiny, The New Order, Driveclub, Diablo III I'll start considering updating to a Tera size HD. For now...game on.

Titanfall has far less content and is 50gb due to decompressed audio.

Not sure if you're having the same issue I did, but essentially I had a clunky / faulty disc drive. Sent it in for repairs and got back a new Xbone two weeks later. Could be your issue too.

Whoa, a FPS without any multiplayer that focuses just on the single-player campaign? I'm gonna have to buy this game right away just out of principle.

This was my logic exactly.

Plus I pretty much just traded my used Battlefield 4 in at Target straight up for a new Wolfenstein.

Also, the people at my Best Buy were clueless about the gift card to replace the toy and one guy even argued with me about them offering the toy in the first place. I sure hope they are automatic with those e-gift cards and not make us have to call and haggle over them.

Even though I bought Titanfall for the exact opposite reason (I wanted one FPS that was dedicated to multiplayer), I actually completely agree with you and might pick up Wolfenstein for this reason alone. It's one of the reasons why I love Dishonored so much, too.

The size of this game isn't due to audio but the texture method the new id engine uses. Basically instead of a bajillion small texture files the game uses a few massive (up to 16 Billion pixel) textures. The engine then samples the parts of the texture it needs, at the quality it needs, dynamically. The result is better performance and much lower memory usage. Since texture quality is generated on the fly the same texture file can be used for multiple quality settings or different systems.

The downside is massive, uncompressed files. Also because it does not use Directx it can expose driver issues that most titles do not encounter.

I just upgraded my internet speed. With games this big and my 250gb cap I still won't be able to go all digital
