Re: The VR Thread (Oculus Rift, Vive, Playstation VR)
I have a Quest 2 and I have a Star Wars pinball game that I got in a bundle a while back with the Vader Immortal games. I haven't played it recently but I don't remember it having 8 different tables, though, so I will look when I get home and see if it's the same game.
The pinball I got has 8 tables and I played the Mando one. Pretty cool. I’ll have more time when the semester is over.

Okay, I just spent an hour playing Star Wars pinball.
It's actually 10 different tables on mine, I must not have looked closely before or they added some in an update. I just played ANH and ESB in classic mode. I earned some posters, a full-size stormtrooper, and some helmets. Got 'em on display in the game room there. Pretty cool setup. I wish I could sit on the speeder bike. Oh, and I unlocked a couple of jukebox songs. Goldberg74, I'm also looking forward to the end of the semester so I can play around on my Quest 2 more and avoid yard work.

WIll someone of the many people help me out on how to make the 3D face you square on instead of to the side? Thanks!

Re: The VR Thread (Oculus Rift, Vive, Playstation VR)
The problem is that the view is good for whole table, but 3D shifts it, so it's not the Oculus (I've done the reset many times and tried both stationary and room boundaries). If I'm doing top town, the flippers are right in the middle. If I'm doing 3D, the flippers are slightly to the side, rotated from me.

They have vr mode that makes it seems like you're part of the table. That's the one that doesn't work, the flippers are off to the side.

Still not sure what you mean. The regular view standing in front of the table is 3D and VR.
ETA: Okay, I figured it out.
After you start a game, pressing the 'Y' button on the left controller takes you down into the close-up, table-level view. Neat option, though I don't think I'd want to play it that way much.
Once you're down in that view, you can toggle your position between the left side of the table, the center, or the right side of the table by using the 'grip' buttons on the controller handles. So if the flippers are off to your right, squeeze and release the right grip button and it should move you to the bottom-center of the table. If the flippers are on your left, use the left grip button to move to the center.

Re: The VR Thread (Oculus Rift, Vive, Playstation VR)
I had already tried all three views and all three were off-centered.
Today I tried it and it just worked
perfectly centered
I don't play for points because I suck anyway, so 3d is fantastic for me and will be my main way to play. There's also this really comfy armchair I like to use to play on and I can't use it in main mode because it doesn't let me back up enough to pull the plunger.
This is the way to play pinball.

^You can also launch the ball by pressing the 'A' button instead of pulling the plunger out.

I'm not really used to the Oculus controls, I don't use it much and when I do it's work out stuff with minimal button involvement.

Getting used to the controls. Yep normal mode works just fine. I have trouble remembering I'm not actually playing a pinball table. I got a poster! Is this a game in which if you play enough eventually you will unlock everything 5 points at a time or you have to be good at it? At least you can play all tables. This was worth the price of admission just for the novelty. I can be in my comfy chair now and play normal mode, thanks for the A tip!

Re: The VR Thread (Oculus Rift, Vive, Playstation VR)
I mentioned in the PS5 thread that I finally was able to buy a PSVR2 from Game Stop.
Having both that and an Oculus Quest provides some interesting contrasts. Yes the Quest is nice in that it's cord-free. Can't imagine swinging a pretend golf club around with my PSVR next to my TV.
That said, the PSVR2 is so much more advanced and therefor so much more immersive. Not at all blurry, no laggy frame rates. When you look at something with it, you see it clearly. It's a completely different experience than the Quest which always feels kind of phony and artificial -- at least not realistic to the point of immersion. I tried a little of No Man's Sky. It was pretty immersive, but once I got in my spaceship, grabbed the controls and started flying? Geez, my head was spinning and I felt a little motion sickness. It was WILD! Completely different sort of experience.
What PSVR2 games are you guys enjoying? I have my eye on the Kayak one, but will wait for a sale.

^^ I'd love to VR more but the motion sickness thing has been too much for me.

Okay well it turns out that the PSVR2 killer app is actually... Gran Turismo 7.
I played just a little tonight and it is really remarkable how realistic it feels when you're behind a wheel and actually in a car, looking out your windows, checking your rear view mirror. It's totally amazing. I played with my Dual Sense, but next time I will try with the VR controllers instead.
