Best I can tell mine is a Meta account. I honestly don't remember if I did a conversion or not.
N/M I found my account on the Meta website along with all my purchases. I must have switched over some time previously. |
Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
Yeah, I just went to the website to see if it would let me log in and it did, so I assume that means I am good.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I got an email saying my account was being deleted but I've never owned a headset. No idea when or why I created an Oculus account in the first place.

Well, I did it! I'm joining the ranks of the PSVR2 owners who've ponied up for the Globular Cluster mod, which -- by every account I've seen -- makes the headset massively more comfortable and better locks in the sweet spot.
I haven't really used my headset much since my, errr, day one purchase, but the one-two punch of the two Moss games really won me over. Now I just need to get prescription inserts! I haven't really put the mod through its paces yet -- just a few minutes in GT7, both racing and in the VR garage -- but initial impressions are extremely strong. |

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I finally bought a VR gaming headset. (I do have an old Oculus Go). The Meta Quest 2 was $200 with a $50 Meta GC. I figured $150 is a pretty good entry point. See if I really use it much. Hopefully will use it to get some VR exercise.
So I know I'm late to the game and a generation behind but anyone have any recommendations on straps for the Quest 2? I heard the elite strap is pretty terrible but it's on sale for $45 so that's kind of tempting. But I've heard BoboVR and Kiwi are good as well at $50 but then they won't fit into the case. |

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I ended up getting both of them. I got the Meta brand first but didn't like it that much. So I got the Kiwi's. But figured it was more the face plate. Got the larger faceplate with the silicon cover and now they both feel a lot better. I'll have to figure out which one to return.
I'm really enjoying my Meta Quest 2 so far. I'm definitely addicted to Beat Saber and bought a bunch of music packs already. Only thing I don't like is the original music selection. It's kind of terrible with not a single track that I'm familiar with. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a Lindsey Stirling exclusive song in there though. That one is by far my favorite. I can complete most songs in Hard mode but it seems to be a huge step to Expert. I pretty much play as no fail though. It's always been jarring failing a song in these music games but especially in VR. I did subscribe to Meta+, it really seems like a pretty good deal for people like me with zero games to play. I especially couldn't resist 13 months for $60 + $25 Meta credit. $35 seems like a no brainer. Plus a lot of VR games seem to be more along the level of iPhone app games. Kind of gimmicky and/or short. So it's nice to able to have them/try them out with little risk to see which ones I like. So far I've enjoyed Drop Dead Dual Strike. The gun mechanic is quite good. The aiming mechanic is so accurate I'm as terrible of a shot as I am in real life.. I find myself having to close one eye to line up the sights for distant targets. The kids have enjoyed Floor Plan 2 and Walkabout Mini Golf. We've all enjoyed the surprise hit the built in tutorial First Steps. It's really quite impressive but maybe that's just because we're all new to VR. |
Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
Star Wars Tales from Galaxy's Edge Enhanced Edition is on sale for $13.59 (66% off) until 5/8. I'm considering re-buying it because it gave me a bit of a headache being as blurry as it was on the Quest 2.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I don't find myself gravitating towards actually using my Q3... BUT, when I do, it's impressive as hell. The AR stuff, the features of seeing your environment while still being engaged is really cool stuff.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I'd been using the PSVR2 box for storage, but I was having a heckuva time getting it to close after installing the Globulus Cluster. If anyone else is running into the same issue, it might be worth checking out this case from AliExpress. It was $15.17 when I ordered it (I think because of a first-time order discount), and the turnaround time from ordering to delivery was only 9 days.
https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/imag...27113530_1.jpg https://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/imag...27113530_2.jpg It also includes a bag for storing the controllers, although I don't love the idea of keeping the controllers so close to the lenses. Although it also includes lens caps to address that, I guess. |
Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I played the Walkabout Mini Golf "Wallace and Gromit" dlc courses yesterday. They're a lot of fun with some well-designed holes and some new physics effects.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
Get this, it's awesome. There's a demo you can try first.

I’ve never been into pool, but Miracle Pool is a hella fun mixed reality game even though I suck. I ordered a pool stick attachment which should make it even more immersive.

New Batman game is excellent. If you loved the Arkham games, you'll love this one.

Nice. I wish it was for PSVR2 as well.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
A new Walkabout Mini Golf dlc course dropped today, called 8-Bit Lair. Gonna give it a try tonight.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I had such a good time with Max Mustard. If you have a Quest or a PSVR2, I would definitely recommend it.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
This new VR update to Hitman sounds cool ( if more difficult). Since it's described as an upgrade instead of a new game, I wonder if it will be free for those who own the complete game already. (For those that don't know Hitman: World of Assassination is kind of a compilation of the least three episodic Hitman games and their DLC in one big package)
|
Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
This website states that the Hitman VR upgrade won't be free, but will only be $10, which is good enough for me

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
To ring in the PSVR2’s second birthday, Sony is giving the headset a permanent price cut to $399.
Strangely, it’s $399 regardless which version you get: the headset alone or the bundle with Horizon: Call of the Wild. |
Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
This looks pretty fun

Beat Saber drops support for PSVR2. No more DLC going forward. Absolute madness.

I finally purchased a Meta Quest 3 over Thanksgiving weekend. I had no idea what I was missing out on, this thing is pretty cool.
Now, if I could just avoid the motion sickness... |

It's such a silly, dumb game, but I have to say I bought Tentacular and it's really a fun VR game. Basically it's VR Octodad,

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
I'm just sitting here waiting for Valve's new VR headset and price to drop. That's when I'll finally take my next plunge into VR.

Re: The VR Gaming Thread (Meta Quest, Vive, PSVR)
Next Valve headset AND a price drop? See you in 10+ years!
