Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Well.. I had 210 donuts saved up, so I bought the Princess because she can provide slot machine tokens and has a building. If I can get more donuts through the event, will see what else I can buy.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
My current redwood level is going to take my one character 36 turns of three hours each. And he's a monorail character so that'll be put on the backburner for a few days.
I didn't play the slots for most of the weekend so I ended up with a 100 token backlog.
At least the gamblers will occasionally drop coasters (still look like waffles to me) and horseshoes.
I can unlock 40 coasters with the next Casino Players Club level, but I can only earn more cards toward that by unlocking the next main prize, which is a long way away. And then even if I get that, it's the last act 1 prize so I may have to wait for act 2 to get any more. I wonder if the intention is for us not to be able to unlock tier 2 till act 2, and the same for tier 3.

I'm only $50 million away from hitting a billion in Springfield Heights. I'm looking forward to being done with that (until they release a new challenge for that area).

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Maybe some of the people running the Family Guy game are working on this one .. Most events only have 3 or 4 characters that are needed for multiple tasks at the same time. The only real way to make it (even when playing all the time) is through real-money purchases.

The Platinum Scratch-R is now available at the Kwik-E Mart thru 3/3. It costs $7.99 +tax to play ($8.55 for me).
The payout and odds are:
1000 Donuts = 50:1
300 Donuts = 25:1
200 Donuts = 10:1
125 Donuts = 5:1
115 Donuts = 3:1
100 Donuts = 3.26:1
Expected Payout = 146 Donuts, or for me at $8.55, 17 donuts per dollar
For comparison, the $0.99 Golden Scratch-R has the same odds but payouts are 100-50-20-12-9-6, for an expected payout of 13.2 Donuts, or 12.5 donuts per dollar.
I happened to have about $9 in my Google Play account (thanks to Google Opinion Rewards) so I splurged and bought one - won 300 donuts! I bought the Sleep Ezy Motel w/Miss Springfield for 110 donuts after rebate, she came with the Cat Hostess Costume (it's in inventory, you gotta go dig it out) which immediately moved me from 1 star to 3 stars on my first Casino Club card. Not a bad investment.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Just learned how to buy the mystery boxes (I didn't know that the store had an expandable menu!) Bought one for 6 donuts, got 30 donuts, and then bought the Ms Springfield bundle. Bumped me up to level 6 for the Casino Club.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm so very behind in this event. I usually have several times per day that I can sneak away to play so there's no down time for event-involved characters but my days have been pretty non-stop throughout the entire Casino event so far. I only just earned the Chapel, so I'm several days behind and Lucius Sweet does not look to be in my future (I also missed Patches and Poor Violet - the first top prize I've missed ever).
Coming up, when we have some down time in-between official in-game events, I think it would be fun to organize a little mini event here among those of us who play and check in here. Not sure what that looks like, but a few ideas include:
1. Springfield Appreciation (take the time to see your neighbor's sites, come back and compliment each other).
2. Original Design Award (everyone submit a favorite part of their town that they created / has a unique element and vote on our favorite parts).
3. Message Mayhem (write out messages to each other and/or across our towns).

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm in good shape so far. I unlocked Lucius Sweet and am at eight out of 10 for unlocking the next crafting tier. For whatever reason, I unlocked Lucius' dice den and played that for a while. The payouts (or the cheating, whichever) might be a little better than the slots. I played a number of times thinking it was free then realized I was expending my game tokens on it.
Yeah, it's not intuitive. I had to be told about it when I wanted to get something in Springfield Heights.
Yeah, I think I'll pass on that.
It's tough because the events have gone away from helping your neighbors and really reward visiting your own town repeatedly. I guess that's how they keep people playing the game, and they're generous with the donuts so it's hard to complain. I do miss dropping eggs on people, though, so it could be fun to have some kind of neighbor activity.

Not fishing, just speculating, and thank you all the same. It's nice to be back and good to play with you all. Missed all of you, too.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Otherwise I thought it was really hard to guess matching numbers, but the cheating seemed to make up for it. Without any stats, though, we're just kind of going by feel. So I've been letting my tokens stack up while I figure out what I want to do.

By the way, what is it with the daily updates? It seems that the game has some sort of update on a daily basis.

I finally got Lucius. Should I stockpile tokens until the new prizes? I assume they will still be good the next go round. I don't see me getting to Level 2 on the crafting upgrade anytime soon.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I'm still doing the monorail task, but with only three metal workers available, it's been slow going, and I always have three metal tasks on the board. I finally decided to kill one 130-metal-piece task that's been on my board for forever, and probably will be until the casino event is over. So I saved up and finally finished it, and it was replaced by a 140-metal-piece task that also needs 20 glass.
Missed Maggie for the first time in quite a while. I don't know why since she was on a normal house.
Only debris and signs for me, which is why I don't really mind if miss the turnover on that task.
That's somewhat normal when there's a new event and they're swatting bugs they've introduced.
Hmm, that's a good question. I assume the only thing that won't carry over is the red chips. I've been cranking out the chips for the donus bonus, but I haven't used any tokens for the last day or so, and with only 2.5 days left in this act, I might wait as well. On the other hand, I'm not that far away from leveling up on the crafting menu, and that might be better to start sooner than later. Because I did get all the prizes in the first act, maybe I'm better off just cashing in the tokens in hopes of leveling up crafting, and going on faith that I'll be OK on the next set of prizes.

I'm saving my tokens for part 2. The crafting tiers are a long slog. I don't see any harm in waiting for the next part. Once I've got tier 2, I'll immediately start on tier 3.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Yikes! Sometime in the last couple days my "confirm donut spend" was turned OFF. I decided to buy Florence of Arabia since I've been getting some donuts from the post-prize bonus, and I figured getting her to help would somewhat defray that cost. But it accepted the purchase without checking, at which time I checked my settings and sure enough. I'm just glad I found it that way rather than by accidentally spending to rush something frivolous like I almost did the other day before it asked to confirm.
I did decide to use more tokens in hopes of unlocking tier 2. Today's coaster challenge also helped the decision. I've gotten a couple randomly dropped by gamblers, but I don't want to play all day in hopes of getting all five then getting into a time crunch. I'll probably give it the morning.
I bet you've been waiting 89 days to post that!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I got Lucius this morning as well.. I managed to get all but 3 of the upgrade things unlocked to get to Tier 2. That is my primary goal when act 2 starts to get up to tier 2. I would be closer or even there but I was focused on the players club thing and used the keychains and coasters early on to craft stuff that used those that I could have skipped early on.
