I'm loving it so far except for the freezing, decided to unhook the internet to see if it helps.

The shock gloves are actually a minor complaint I had with the game. Using them made things too easy at times. I finished the main story last night and thought it was great. I guess I don't really see all the complaints that people have with the game. It's not perfect and I did start to experience some freezing issues a couple times yesterday while finishing it but overall I still thought it was a fun experience. I think the thing with this game was that it was more of a cash in title and sort of a hold over until the actual sequel happens.

Maybe I'll pick it up again next weekend if I get the time, but I doubt it.
I'm not even going to pick it up. No Kevin Conroy, no sale. The same with the last few idiotic DC animated movies....

That's kind of closed minded. The game itself is actually really fun and the story is good. Plus to be honest the guy playing Bruce/Batman actually sounds pretty good. I've said it a few times but it sounds like he's basically doing a Conroy impersonation but he's not terrible at it.

That's an ignorant minded type of bitching. That'd be like saying once Adams and O'Neil left their stamp everyone after was pointless. Just cuz Conroy was the most prominent and highly regarded voice actor for Bats doesn't mean he owns it. No one man can own something like Batman or Superman. They're too big. It's not like Downey Jr. and Iron Man. The scales of pop culture on those three are so skewed. Downey does own it cuz the character wasn't big as Bats and Supes. He's the most prominent image of that character.

The voice actors did fine but I'd prefer Conroy and Hamill, even understanding why they weren't used.

The game is good. Flawed but good, it is a title that based on its quality works better at the 20-30 bucks range to buy. The story is really interesting. Sadly I do tire of how much Joker has to be in these games. Granted they've been great parts for the character.

It's funny how a lot reviews that did Blackgate mention that they wish it was a Metroid game. Is it THAT Metroid like? I need to get Vita for that one.

The voice acting is fine. The story is great. The fighting is fun. The ending was fine.

Too many complaints. I say just have fun playing it.

I did encounter another freeze while doing a side quest though.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC)

Ugh. 4 freezes in 2 hours. There is a good clean game here under all the bugs. I've beaten this, I liked the story, had some game mechanic issues, and have gotten all the collectible stuff. Just need to do the new game plus, online, and the challenge maps. I'll hold off on this until the patch.

The fight mechanics though will never be great, unless that patch is a detailed motherfucker.

I guess I had no problems whatsoever with the controls and didn't think it felt all that different from Arkham City. The only thing I sort of noticed was that sometimes it felt like there were less thing to use my grapnel gun on.

Game destroying glitch in the vita version of Blackgate. So close to the end too. Freed a hostage and it didnt set the next one as an objective.

Downloaded the patch but it did nothing to recover my "corrupt" save file. At this point I doubt they can do anything about it.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC)

AC4 must have had massively major issues for a 1 gig patch.

8mb sounds about right for a regular patch. The first one fixes something about falling out into or out of the world, free flow mode not unlocking properly, and not being able to continue the story.

Never heard of the latter two.

The 2nd patch will fix corrupt saves and the freezes.

If anything this game has convinced me that Conroy and Hammil are completely replaceable. The new guys sound so much like them it's stunning.

That shows you how out of it I am. I didn't even realize AC4 had already come out.

Aye, me too. But it's probably because AC3 bummed me out so much that I lost interest.

Anyway, no lock-ups/freezes/corrupt files on my XBOX 360. So far I'm good. Deathstroke battle was fun. Otherwise this is "more of the same" but I'm enjoying it, generally. Pain in my groin is subsiding.

I just got to the Electrocutioner fight.

Spoiler:
It reminds me of the infamous scene of Batman "one punching" Guy Gardner in Justice League International.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC)

so the patch seems to have worked. i haven't had a freeze up since the initial one right after i got. also beat the game. enjoyed the hell out of it, but i do agree the fighting was a bit "loose."

Yeah, it's a bit off. Whereas in AC it was pretty tight with your input.

Re: Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC)

Just completed

Spoiler:
the Mad Hatter sidequest. It was okay, but it was obvious it was trying to copy the Scarecrow sequences from AA and didn't do it nearly as well.

One thing I noticed at the end of the quest if you look at Hatter's body in detective mode he has no skeleton. That's always been a clue in the previous two games for Clayface. Was that actually supposed to be Clayface and not the real Mad Hatter and I missed it? Or was it just a bug? Probably a bug since this game seems to have so many.
