Money talks.

I don't know what MS does for those that have to do multiple patches, but I liken to a fine for releasing a sub par product that needed multiple patches.

So tired of day 1 patch BS.

On the flipside, we have things like Toki Tori 2 that has multiple patches to add in new sections and features. They're not all about bug fixes. And that game was great upon release

Agreed, but didn't Borderlands 2 and other games get around that, by putting access to things that previously would only be done via patch?

I fixed my thoughts on the original post.

I think leaving patches up to developers entirely can make them lazy and not oversee things as carefully as they would if they were held more responsible for their creations, as XboxLive does.

If they don't have to pay or their mistakes, they can just keep released glitch-infested games, just to meet a deadline and worry about fixing glitches later, since it won't cost them anything.

And maybe if Phil Fish had tested Fez more (yeah, I know it already took him years), he wouldn't have had all those glitches and problems with the game.

Good or bad, patches are here to stay, as are rushed glitchy games to meet a release date. There's nothing that will stop that from happening, even charging for patches. I tend to see the other side of the coin as a far worse scenario, one where a game needs a patch but, the devs say fuck it because of some silly fee that doesn't need to exist.

Er, I thought this was old news by now, but MS no longer charges developers for any patches as of April this year. Phil Fish has even said that Fez will be eventually patched again because of the policy change.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, since he has basically said "f you" to everyone. But it's good to know that they changed their policy. Hopefully developers don't release half assed projects and abuse the system.

True, I forgot about Fish ragequitting the industry.

Nah. You can play them in any order.

On hard and extreme you might want to do Transylvania and The Himalayas first, as they contain the only heart container upgrades In those modes.

So far I've beat the game on normal and hard and am in the middle of an extreme playthrough, having beat the intro, African Mines, and Transylvania.

It's kind of annoying that extreme must be played all in one sitting. Also, there are more extra lives in hard mode than normal mode wtf.

I was able to complete extreme, losing one life. I don't think there's anything left to unlock :/

Finished the game and now it's stuck on a save screen. Powering down doesn't help. Fucking glitches.

What do you mean? You turn off the WiiU and the next time you load the game it freezes while loading?

Re: Duck Tales Remastered! (XBLA, PSN, WII U) - Summer 2013

The PS3 version crashed on me a couple of times while saving. Fortunately the crashes came after the save, as I lost no progress.

I started playing on easy, and am now stuck there until I can unlock all the art in the gallery. It sucks you lose that progress if you want to change difficulty. I am getting close, but some of them cost over a million.

I did get the Look Ma, No Spats trophy. That was a bitch.

Yep. Power down the WiiU, turn it back on. Tap the DuckTales game icon and it takes me right back to the black save screen. I had to unplug the WiiU.

When you go to new game, it says it keeps Gallery unlocks.

I could of sworn it said the opposite of that when I tried. I'll check it when I get home.

Unlocked all the music. How can you choose it during the game?

Go into options and 8-Bit Music On/Off should be there.

I just played the intro level. I'm really going to enjoy this. I'm starting on easy.

I made it all the way to the final level on Extreme, but I had zero lives left, and the extra life on that level on hard is not there for Extreme. I made a bad jump and it was over.

Ugh. I should be able to do it, I just need a life or two.

There's still one extra life in that level somewhere. I didn't find extreme to be any more difficult than hard, really. I think the lava at the last section goes ever so slightly faster than on hard and it was already fast on hard. Be on your toes and prepared to skip a few chains on your way up.

Consider your first go through as practice. You will have learned from your mistakes and I'm pretty sure you'll make it all the way through.

:hscratch: The leaderboard says you've only ran through the game once.

Done easy and hard so far myself. LosingMyMind is the only one on my WiiU leaderboard.

Yeah, I was actually going to ask you to check the leaderboard to check on that. It only shows that for me too. It didn't update any of my leaderboard stuff after my past two playthroughs. I'm done with the game until they release a patch.

I might sign in and see if it will update my stats, but I doubt it.

Also, you're able to access the leaderboards with no freezing? I can only look at one or two pages of them and then the system needs restarted.

http://www.nintendonews.com/wii-u/du...-leaderboards/

I asked on miiverse if anyone knows why my stats aren't updating. Here's what my real play time should show on the leaderboards, among other stats that won't update.
