Only bonus for the WiiU is having it tied to the console so you're out a purchase if your console dies, or you get a new one down the line.

PS3 won't transfer over to next gen and we don't know about about 360, yet.
This will for sure have off screen play on Wii U. I wouldn't expect anything else.

As for 360/PS3 not moving forward, I don't see it as an issue. I already have a library of games on each so if they don't move with me, DuckTales is just another one to that library.

The following info comes from a Dtoid interview with Capcom producer Rey Jimenez...
On Capcom's desire to work with WayForward again...
"Disney actually suggested WayForward. In my mind, WayForward was just the perfect match. They handled practically all of the production side like pros. The game has been in development for around a year, and we would love to work with them again...yes, retro or otherwise."
- Ducktales Remastered is running on the Mighty Switch Force engine
On Extreme mode being more difficult than the original...
On Extreme though, that's actually harder than the original. You'll have less hearts than the NES game and there's some challenging reworks.
On adding context to levels and bosses...
"Yeah actually that was one of the designers favorite parts of the new game, figuring out context. For instance, in the Himalayas level, Webby is a stowaway on Launchpad's plane, and stuff like that. The moon level was really interesting. You know how the boss was just that giant rat? Well WayForward came up with this whole backstory, like how the aliens abduct and test different animals, and how sometimes they get away. That giant rat is actually an escaped mutated experiment."
On revamping the final part of the game...
"Just know that the very last part of the NES game, where you're climbing up that rope; we made it a lot more fun and interactive. You'll see!"
On supporting Wii U and the Wii U GamePad features...
"Well, whatever is best for the game. In this particular case, given the history of the series with Nintendo, we felt it was right. The Wii U GamePad in Ducktales Remastered will be used to view the map, and will have full remote play features."

This was the only game I waited in line to play at PAX East. Luckily for me, the line wasn't very long. Absolutely a day one purchase. I'll most likely get it for Wii U only due to the full remote play.

I remember the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers game more but I also remember playing this when I was younger. I'll definitely purchase it.

This thread reminded me. Disney never put out another volume of DuckTales with the remaining episodes on DVD yet. So dumb they released almost the entire series and could probably fit the remaining episodes on a four disc set but I'm guessing we'll never see them as the last volume came out years ago.

Same here. I liked the game alright, but it couldn't hold a candle to Capcom's Mega Man games at that time.

This was one of the few NES games that I actually owned (before my stupid brother gave all our NES stuff away to an asshole friend of his). I remember loving it so much.
I'll buy the XBLA version for sure.

To rectify it, they should put together a Disney Treasure complete set.

Also I hope that the second DuckTales game is eventually remastered too if this one does well.

Awesome. It's a shame to lose the 8bit music but damn, the original voice talent just warms my heart and more than makes up for it.
Do we have a rumored date yet? Summer of Arcade?

There was a pic of a Gamestop computer screen which showed a date of August 1, but that's a Thursday. Their website now shows August 31, which is a Saturday. It won't be a Summer of Arcade title because of the whole exclusivity thing. I'd guess August 14/21/28, one of those dates, depending on when the SoA is over. We should hear more about SoA next week.

Lara Croft was a SoA title despite being multiplatform. 360 had a tiny window where it was exclusive. I can see them doing that for DuckTales.

Sold! And I have no nostalgia for this game having been too old to own the game or watch the TV show when it was originally on. That just looks like a nice platformer for the family.
