Heavy Rain has great mood and a solid concept. But it's still very rough around the edges and the story doesn't really stand up to any real scrutiny. It's still good and I don't regret purchasing it but it's grossly overrated.

I'm glad I really only play the big releases. I don't think there's been a game I played this generation I really disliked, although there's a couple that I purchased and never really caught my interest (Red Dead (blasphemy, I know) and RAGE).

It would be a toss-up between Aliens: Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever. Games that were anticipated by many for years and 2K dropped the ball on both of them. Aliens: Colonial Marines is borderline unplayable whereas Duke Nukem Forever looks and feels something we should've seen during the sixth-generation.

Ok, I take back my reply. Duke Nukem Forever was probably the shittiest, although even that game I thought was overly criticized and wasn't that terrible.

story

I only have maybe a dozen or so PS3 titles as I came very late to the game, pun intended. We picked up the PS3 as a blu-ray player and then some of you weirdos made me play Warhawk and then I got hooked on games. So that's my context for this answer:

Rage - I picked it up on a TRU clearance sale for $9 and had to put it down about two hours into it. I liked the storyline, graphics, and play control. Even my wife was intrigued enough by the storyline to watch the cut scenes while on the couch reading. But I got severe motion sickness playing it. I don't know, something about the frame rate or how smooth all of the movement was combined with the color palette. I had a headache from about ten minutes in and it just got progressively worse to the point I was nauseous and almost threw up. I know it wasn't a fluke because I tried the game two other times and it happened almost immediately both time.

In terms of games I've played and just plain didn't like, I enjoy the company of DVDTalkers on COD:MW2 much more than the game.

I played MW2 more on Steam rather than 360 (like the CoD games that followed) and I'm sure I spent more time goofing off and pissing people off with my friends than actually playing the game.

That's why I love Team Fortress 2 so much. It's a great game that's made even better if you can find an awesome community to play it with.

I think a lot of us old school adventure gamers give it a pass because we simply haven't had any excellent, serious minded adventure games since Longest Journey and Syberia. I still want another Phantasmagoria or Gabriel Knight style game (sans FMV)

Telltale's episodic games are a start, but they're still lacking. Gray Matter was ... lacking.
