Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)
It generally does seem like a very good (if not excellent) game in many ways, but fails to be fantastic. That seems like a fair place to land on this one.
I'll wait for the true PS5/Series X enhancements before I play it, though. I have a few other games to eat up all my time until then.

I have AC: Valhalla and Odyssey, Maneater, Avengers, Watch Dogs, Yakuza, Borderlands 3, Madden 21, and Rogue Squadron to play and I’m putting it all aside for this. Can’t wait.

It looks like the gane is made for multiple runs so I have no problems playing it on my base PS4. I'll do my first run and in 2021 2nd run on Next Gen.

Looking really forward to it, but I think I'm still gonna wait until the 2nd or 3rd post-release patch to play it.
I have plenty of games to hold me over till then. Heck, this may be the final game I play on my PS4 before I buy a PS5.

If you suffer from epilepsy, you may want to think trice about playing this game: https://www.gameinformer.com/2020/12...-epileptic-psa

CDPR is no more problematic than any other AAA developer, but the fanbase on the other hand...
I personally will skip it for now because they usually need about 3 or 4 major patches to truly make their games shine.

Reply from CDPR. Sounds like they at least take the concern seriously

I think I'm going to skip this game. CDPR is a problematic developer and I was still willing to give this a shot based on reviews but the toxic fanbase makes me not want to support it. This reviewer posted that she got a severe seizure from one of the main gameplay elements and still posted a ton of positive stuff about the game and the games fans have responded by harassing her on social media and sending her hundreds of seizure triggering images. I have enough games to play.

Of course they are going to respond and fix the problem that is their only option or they would have lawsuits. Should Decker be excited that Sony has responded that there are issues with the PS5 and they plan to fix them? No shit they are going to fix them because they don't want the publicity nightmare.

Honestly, I don't think Sony cares at all how I feel, has no plans to fix the issue whatsoever, and wish I could make this a publicity nightmare for them but don't have any clout to do so!
Also, I thought this game came out in two days but Best Buy says it's ready for pick up now.

Lawsuits? They posted what they needed to in the EULA. Should they have additional warnings? Yeah absolutely. I don't know what advertising you speak of that caters to their toxic fanbase

I’m so curious to hear how this runs on PS5. I know it won’t have the next-gen patch, but I assume it’ll still run better than on a PS4 Pro.
My initial plan was to pick this up on PC, but I’m running an older GPU (1070), with no possibility to upgrade on the horizon. If the PS5 experience is better than what I’d get on my PC, then maybe that’s the way to go.

To max out the game (4k / Ultra Mode w/ Ray-tracing) at 60 fps (with DLSS turned ON) you need an RTX 3080. (Without DLSS it averages out at 39.3 fps on the 3080 and 44.8 on the 3090)

The 3090/3080 can't hit 4K 60fps on Ultra settings with Ray Tracing set to Ultra. Cut either of those down to high/very high and it will be a different story. The 1070 will certainly give a better experience than the PS4 version that will be released now until the "enhancements" are released sometime next year.
