Apparently CDPR said on an earnings call today that the full next-gen enhancements won’t come until next year but that the game will still look better on the PS5/XBSX on day one.

If Tsushima, Last of Us 2 and Cyberpunk live up to the hype, this gen is really closing out strong. Especially when there's usually a 6-9 month void of quality games prior to a new generation.

Damn, this is looking even better than I expected. I'll probably grab it along with one of the next-gen consoles instead of playing it on the current gen.

Same. I still have a bunch of PS4 games to work through that will easily take me into the first few years of the PS5. At that point, I'll see what versions of the PS5 is available, and get whatever complete version of Cyberpunk with it.

I don't mind the delay either, as a PC player. I'm hoping that the new Nvidia 3000 series cards will be out by then... I'm due for an upgrade.

Judging by the trailer, yeah, the graphics look good, but I don't think they look that much better than some stuff that's already on current gen systems. There definitely were a few spots that looked a little subpar (one of the driving scenes).

Digital Foundry did a good break-down of some gameplay footage and what they've been able to gather from it. It's pretty informative, actually, and showcases just how advanced this game is turning out to be. They're also very skeptical that we'll see much of this fidelity in the current-gen.

I'm with ...Dan...on this....I believe this would stretch the limits of the Current Gen and even then I don't think we see and experience what the whole game is both visually and gameplay. The Driving Sequences….yea maybe but the on-foot, Bars, Clubs, Night-Life, Street Action with NPC's and all...I doubt it. We're dealing with a Neon Concrete Jungle with a vast amount of textures and lighting...not a huge area of foliage, trees, bushes, grass....yea The Division, COD, Last of Us Pt 2, Spiderman, AC Odyssey all look great...but looking at this video...just don't see how current gen can do it without some sacrifice...

I'm going to point out on example that doesn't require high fidelity but left me feeling lackluster. There was a fistfight in a section of the video and how it went down in this game wasn't even as smooth as the fighting in GTA that came out in 2013. There are parts that look amazing and other that are still quite clunky looking. I still plan on playing it and doing that on next-gen systems. However, there are some things that a higher powered system alone are not going to make better. I still think the game is going to be a good one.

Did they say if a current gen copy being played on a next gen console will run better or boost performance in any way? Otherwise, they said the next gen versions won't launch until next year. So are all of you guys planning on waiting that long to play it? Given the delays of this version, I wouldn't be surprised if the next gen version slips into 2022.

CD Projekt RED president and joint CEO Adam Kicinski also answered questions on the delay in a conference call.
"“It will be running on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from the launch date, just as it will run on the current Xbox and the next Xbox from day one," said Kicinski.
"It will look better on the next-generation consoles from day one. The technicalities behind it are a little bit different from what [the question] described, but probably no point in going into detail about that. And I can confirm this is not the final update.
"At some point we’re going to have a more robust update for the for the next-gens, which we’re planning to give free of charge to anybody who purchases the PS4 or Xbox One version, but in any case you will be able to play the game on the next-gens from the 19th of November when the game releases, and it will look better than on the next-gens from that moment."

ugh. now they got to rush and work 6 days a week in front of a screen looking at code, the blips, the bloops, tedious and mind-numbing spec details. doesn't sound good to rush a game in development for what, 5-10 years?
