Pop the PS4 play disc in your PS5, go to the Playstation Store and download the PS5 Upgrade version of Cyberpunk (it'll be listed as Free in the store).

Done.

Guess I’ll track down a used copy. I should have grabbed it when it was $10.

Hopefully the new PS5 version is optimized for HDR, since I remember the original release had some sort of foul-up. There was always an update coming but they never fixed the issue.

I'm updating my copy now. The size 58.121 GB.

They claim:
  • Balanced HDR to achieve parity across all platforms.
Which is .. vague

Your first calculation was close enough. It's 63GB.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Started a new game from scratch as a Street Kid and it's jarring as hell. It's in full 4K 60fps (performance mode). Looks great. I tweaked the HDR10 in-game game settings to:

700 Peak
100 Paper
1.2 Gamma curve

That's on top of having the HDR on the TV set to "HDR GAME," since I am in game mode technically.

Right off the bat, the controls are intense and there is some resistance/weight to the L2 & R2 buttons, so that was neat.

After downloading the update, I jumped into one of my older saves to run around for a bit.

Definitely agree with you that after playing this for 86-hours on PS4, it felt like a completely new game on PS5.

Sadly, I realized that I ran of things to do, as I did almost everything on my first play-through.

I'll probably start a brand new save, starting from the beginning (on PS5) but probably not until the Summer.

I'm caught up to where I was when I played it on PC. The PS5 version is pretty il close in visual fidelity and performance to what I was getting. Seems like there are fewer pedestrians though.

I keep forgetting about the speaker on the controller though, kinda freaks me out.

This game needs VR support.

I turned that off. I let my center channel do the heavy lifting.

Looks like the update/patch broke all disc versions on PS4.

So I had finished up the Street Kid playthrough last month and it was cool. I started up my final playthrough as a male version of V. as a Nomad. I banged Meredith Stout and finally banged Panam. Man, that Panam sex scene was fucking cool as hell! The penis weapon Stout gives you is hysterical. I upgraded that shit to legendary and i can kill quite a few enemies with one...blow.

The Xbox disc version was on sale for $20 so I picked it up. Man, I am having a blast. A lot of love and work went into the story/world for this one. I'm glad they seem to have gotten most (not all) the bugs worked out. Playing through as a male nomad super hacker. Might go back and do another playthrough after this one. Really enjoying the Blade Runner/Fifth Element/Mad Max vibe they've got going on.

I wasn't into it at first but now that all is said and done, It is a very well made title, I agree. I get some of the complaints but overall, it's a shame it had so many technical hang ups on launch.

Definitely agree with this, on both counts. It's definitely a game I'd recommend (now).

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

I just started this yesterday. I bought the Xbox version on disk a long time ago for 15 bucks, waiting on the patch/update.
It's got a slow build but it is pulling me in. I just met with Viktor and Dex.
I'm playing on normal (I think) but i've still died like five times. Gun combat has been tearing me up and I've only been in like three fights.
Any tips for a beginner (other than lower the difficulty level)?

I have played through 3 times now. Marksman, melee killer and cyber hacker. Cyber Hacker is by far the easiest when you get a little bit leveled up. You can hack everything and everyone and kill most people before they even know you are there.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

I'm really enjoying this game. Approx 40 or so hours on the clock. Story completion, 75/15/30, I think. And it's really good looking.
And not dying nearly as much as I used to. Not sure i follow the nuances of the story but I'm getting the gist of it.
I don't craft but I upgrade my equipped stuff as much as I can.
And yes, cyber stuff is awesome - I just did what I think is a side mission where I was supposed to sneak in - I hate sneaking - but instead
Spoiler:
I used Short Circuit and the one that does more damage, the more damage they had, and killed most of the baddies while they're still dawdling around.

Question - I have side jobs to rent apartments and buy vehicles. I think I've only slept in my apartment once, when the story had me to do it.
Is there any story reason to get the apartments or vehicles? I've got half a dozen vehicles and almost always still use one of the first ones.
Or are those just things to 'collect'?

I read that CDPR's (or CDP's) market value dropped 75% since this game came out, pretty much solely related to the debacle of its release and the subsequent handling. That's a shame, it definitely shows how hard it can be to make up for a big screwup.

The apartments are fun to get. You go from getting a sketchy apartment in a bad neighborhood to getting the best one on the map in the ritzy part of the city.

They're mostly just vanity/fun of collecting. The apartments are convenient places to access your stash. But once I got the Akira-style motorcyle, I never used any other vehicles.

Coming in 2023:

Also patch 1.6 is live. It was a little over 11GB. I don't know what it's in it, though.

Edgerunners Update (Patch 1.6) list of changes - Cyberpunk 2077 from the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

CD Projekt Red also confirmed that Patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077 will be the last major update for previous-gen consoles. While the game will still be supported, it will only receive updates that will fix bugs and other issues no new content will be added.
