I bought at that price. Even though I may wait until the next gen upgrade comes along, that is good enough price for me.

I keep my system on Rest so I don't know if the game or console has gotten any updates but I'm getting much fewer crashes since last week. I've also started doing many more manual saves rather than relying on autosaves. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. One crash in about 2 hours yesterday.

My luck with crashes seems to have run out. 5 crashes within an hour last night.

Finally got my tech ability to 18 to unlock Legendary crafting. I can now make Oboz's Nose grenades. Those things are potent!

I think I picked a bad option for the quest line with Elizabeth and Jefferson. I decided to tell Jefferson what was happening and now Elizabeth won't talk to me and Jefferson looks to have disappeared. The quest line with River got dark, QUICK

I'll be following a similar timeline, though under different circumstances. I haven't purchased this game yet on any platform. (Though foolishly, I did impulse buy the cp2077 strategy guide hardcover book heavily discounted).

My current main desktop computer is in its midlife and will have to be replaced in another year or two (or three). So by the time my current pc either abruptly dies or I decide to buy a new computer, the hardware specs to run cp2077 decently will become standard and not too sky high in price by then.

At the earliest, it might be after current pandemic is over later this year (or next year). By then, the cp2077 pc version might very well be bargain bin fodder.

The first "big" patch is out - 1.1. Seems like it's mostly just fixing scripting errors, but there are mentions of crash fixes and memory optimization. Hopefully it'll help some people

It also apparently introduced a game breaking glitch.

I'm finding this game extremely easy.
In combat you can always scan and it will slow down the enemies for u to aim.
Not sure if its an exploit or designed that way.
Also quickhacking is extremely overpowered. I can spam quick hacks a distance away until everyone dies without taking a shot or getting shot at.

The game is stunning to look at though.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Finished....and, of course, the game crashed during the end credits just to laugh at me one last time.

What should have been an amazing experience was marred by countless crashes and a handful of glitches causing me to lose progress. I also really wish I knew how short the main story was before starting. I did like 30 hours of side content after I was already at the final quest. By the time I went back I barely cared about the conclusion. It would have been much better if I were doing the character side stories while going through the main so it felt like they were on the journey with me. I believe I fished all side content other than buying every car and some of the assaults/crimes in progress. I got all of Johnny's gear, including his car.

After reading about all the different endings, I'm glad with the one I chose; leaving NC with Panam. I was playing as a Nomad character to begin with so it felt right.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Bought the PC version for about $30, it strikes me as a pretty decent game so far, runs great at 1080p (ray tracing - ultra) only glitch thus far has been Jackie clipping into a closed elevator near the beginning.

My take away from it so far is how much it feels like older dystopian adventure games - Blade Runner, Noctropolis, Snatcher, Rise of the Dragon, Under A Killing Moon, etc; that isn't a bad thing but I dunno, I was expecting a little more unique. The gameplay is a toned down deus ex with a touch of GTA.

That said, I do love the genre and am having a good time.

CPR got hit with hack. Apparently hackers have source code for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. Oops!

Pure scum. Why would someone want to see CPR be destroyed just because they botched one single release? The death of CPR would be one less gaming company out there making big AAA games. Yea they suck for screwing up Cyberpunk, but I want them to continue making games. It's bad enough that EA has ruined so many great gaming developers.

Destroyed might be a little dramatic. They have back-ups of everything and holding source code and HR documents ransom probably has minimal consequences for them in the long run. They're also one of the few anti-DRM companies out there so piracy has already occurred on the title. Not sure what you'll really get out of leaked source code than some higher quality mods. The people that hacked them in it for the notoriety and whatever cash they get out of the deal.

They mostly might be in trouble with Microsoft and Sony if any PS5/Xbox Series X boot sector stuff got pulled (if that's still a thing on the current boxes, I haven't really been paying attention to their security mechanisms.)

Just got this for free. Started it. Playing as female V. Like so far. Just did training. Shooting exact not too easy. I guess on first mission with Jackie now. Is there a way to steal car in beginning or no? Always works out same?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

I was hoping the most recent patch would fix an issue I have with a Side Mission, as I had grabbed an item needed for the Mission but nothing else within the room is interact-able.

I've read a lot of players having issues with that particular Side Mission being glitched if they had already started it or interacted with any objects in the room.

It's pretty annoying as it is the last Side Mission I need to complete to get one of the PSN trophies.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

What’s up with the driving in this? Is it just broken? When I’m V and in drivers seat it’s like no FPS driving I ever experienced. You got to adjust camera at the same time as steering while keeping this in sync so you can see. Is there any way to fix? An auto ability or something. I mean I’m just running to the objective. Driving is for shit...

But, early so not much action yet. So far I got an upgrade from a ripperdoc and killed one psychocyber or whatever. Does action pick up after time or so? And still trying to figure out how to send info to Jones, I think.

Is there something up with the driving? Is it fixable so not so jarring and uncontrollable? Iíd rather just run to every location, but Iím sure not possible or feasible.

Only if you're on PC and can mod. Otherwise, it just takes getting used to.

But, it’s insane. It’s like no other driving experience prior. It’s like you really have to keep on both sticks to keep car straight, your head/camera on road and then stick for car. I’m not big on driving in games anyway, but this is the worst. Can you run everywhere?

its actually all I did through most of my playthrough. Running everywhere will level up your athletics much faster.

I mean, if you'd rather double your play time instead of getting used to the driving controls, go for it....

I agree that they were pretty bad. You constantly had to keep adjusting the vertical angle to keep it decent and cars were far more floaty than they should be. But like any other new game, it just took some practice. I started off sticking to Jackie's bike and slower cars. By the end, I was screaming around in the 250k car you can buy at full speed.

exactly. mind you i only played a little bit, but it was like no other driving i have experienced and as i said i hate driving, but Halo, Borderlands made it so simple, Far Cry 4 too. it was a breeze. not complicated, controlled easily and well.

Ah, I did love the Far Cry 4 auto-drive feature...

I am finally getting more into this after setting it aside for some patching. For the most part, I am greatly enjoying it. Did have one random crash in about 4 hours of gameplay, but oh well. Too bad it got off to such a rough start; it's a great, ambitious game.
