Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Went ahead and got the amount of items I'm carrying down to almost half capacity. Still have to sell more stuff.

Even with all of that, my save files are well-over 8MB. That number seems so measly for a game like this. The User Settings alone were almost 5MB.

Speaking of the User Settings, last night when I booted up a game I got an error message stating that my User Settings couldn't be uploaded so it would be reverting back to default.

As mhg83 mentioned, I can put up with all of glitches reported before this but a bug that literally puts the 45+ hours I've put into this game into the trash?

I make multiple saves just in case but they are all over 12mb each. This is bullshit if true.

I got that one just once last night but then I checked my settings and avatar and everything is fine.

I've made multiple saves but after I've poured 45+ hours into the game thus far, collected a ton of crafting materials, items, Cyberware & weapons, being anywhere near 8MB feels unlikely

I think before I started to slowly sell off items, one of my saves was 145MB+

According to the Best Buy forums they will allow you to return it. I think today is the last day though.

I wasn't going to, but after this latest bullshit about savefile sizes I just might. Fuck off if you think I am going to babysit my savefile sizes for your game.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (12/10/2020: PS4, XB1, PC)

Played some more yesterday and this morning. Finally got into a relationship with Judy, banged a hooker, and fucked River. The needy bastard wanted a relationship, so I told him it was only sex.

I beat three more of the gambling street fighters. The second guy, who has the sniper rilfe you can bet him on, was easy enough to beat with the gorilla arms, but there's a glitch where if you bet him the increased amount you only get the sniper gun and none of your money. I reloaded the section and just bet him the initial amount and no gun and that worked.

I then went against the latino dude and you can take his ride and money. The car is dope but he's got a pregnant hoodrat, so I let him keep the ride and just took his money. I somehow got a special version of the gorilla arms with thermal capabilities (sets opponents on fire) and fought a transgender person. Luckily, there was no money involved in that one because I got my ass kicked like 20 times in a row before I finally won. Once you figure out the pattern you'll be able to defeat her easily. Be careful though, two power hits from her and you're done.

The one mission that was sort irritating was the one with Stefan. He conned me out of a shitload of money, so I completed the mission and shot his ass in the head by the dumpster. Prick.

Once you get the Overwatch sniper rifle, it makes life much easier and you can rack up the cash in no time now.

Yeah, reading about the save file issues pushed me into returning it tonight. No issues there. It's been probably 25 years since open games have been returnable. Kinda weird.

I just felt like, despite getting it cheap, I don't want to reward a company for releasing a broken POS. Could I play it on the PS5? Maybe. It would be different if feedback had been off the chart, but by all accounts it's a mediocre game and a buggy mess. Those two don't make for a good recipe.

^ I hear you. I haven't played or opened my copy. I just figure I got it for so cheap (GCU discount + $10 pre-order credit + B2G1 + free Steelbook) that it's not worth the bother to return. Eventually a next gen version will get released and I will just play that version after it comes out. Until then it can sit in a cupboard in the garage, waiting to mature one day like a wine bottle in the cellar.

It sounds like tbe save corruption bug is only affecting PC players.

But I remember Skyrim on PS3 had a similar bug that the longer you player the bigger the files get and would corrupt saves.

The Overwatch Sniper Rifle is great. Reload time is solid.

I switched off it though in lieu of the Sniper Rifle you get from beating one of the Beat on the Brat Side Missions, the Grad "O" Five.

On stock, it adds explosive tips to all ammo added to it. I've been upgrading it a ton too to the point where it can shoot through cover and hit multiple enemies in a single shot.

I believe the Overwatch also has the ability to shoot through cover/walls.

I got the trophy for shooting two people through the head with one bullet from a sniper gun. It was fun and hilarious.

Speaking of save files, why does this game have so many? Last week I decided to re-roll a different character, so I went to delete my previous save only to find like 8 save files. And I only made it to the start of chapter 1. It's like every time the game autosaved it would create a new file.

I was curious about that too. It seems to auto-save a whole lot.

If it wasn't for the Crusin' USA-esque handling of the vehicles in this game, the races that you encounter during a specific Side Mission would be 10x more fun.

Recently bought a motorcycle that is clearly an homage to Kaneda's motorcycle from Akira (1988). It's quickly become my go-to when riding around Night City.

I played Skyrim to death on multiple platforms and am very familiar with the PS3 issue. It got so bad for me that the game would play at 1 frame every several seconds. Just totally unplayable.

So did Morrowind on the original XBOX.

Fallout: NV was about 40 times worse on PS3, and they never fixed it.

I read that morons are upset that the Sony and retailers are wanting/removing (digital version) the game back in order to process refunds. See, they thought that they would be able to keep the "broken" game and get their money back. Sorry, that's not how refunds go. Folks are too accustomed to Amazon letting you sometimes get free shit.

Speaking of refunds, has anybody gone through for Playstation. I submitted the form and just got a "Thanks" page with no email confirmation, nothing.

Pushed through some side quests and gigs and I believe I finished up Johnny's quest with Alt. I guess I have Rogue's mission left to do from the main quest. I'm gonna level up some more before doing that one so that I can tackle the harder gigs/side quest that have the danger level as high and very high. Once the missions get into "moderate" territory, I can hang.

The patch didn't seem to do much to fix Cybercrash. It kicked me back to the main menu three times today. Frustrating to say the least.

About 52-hours into the game now. Even with its issues, I'm glad to have this game around during Winter Break. Obviously pouring a lot of hours into it.

Beat my last Cyberpsycho earlier today

Still looting & upgrading like a madman now that I've been done with the Main Story for a bit now.

Recently found a trio of weapons that make the game WAY easier than it ever needs to be.

You'd think that people who are upset with the game enough to ask for a refund, wouldn't want it to be on their system at all.

As you mentioned though, probably a lot of people who are trying to get a free game and take advantage, ala Amazon.

Holy shit the (Epic) Ashura Sniper Rifle is amazing. It's a Smart Rifle so the bullets just track enemies when you aim in their direction

I don't think I'll ever go back to the O'Five or the Overwatch after this.

Might have to go after the (Legendary) Ashura Sniper Rifle soon. I believe I got the Crafting Spec during a random Side Mission but I have to level up my ability to create Legendary Items.

I think I have that Ashura gun or the components for it. I have a legendary handgun equipped that has those type of bullets. It's pretty awesome. I also picked up the mantis arms randomly and tried them out. They have the thermal mod to them, so I slice 'em up and burn them at the same time. The irony is that I love the handgun and sniper guns that I have equipped, but have yet to find a middle of the road type of gun that I am satisfied with. I'm not really feeling the shotguns, because their shot pattern sprays all over the place and is not accurate. The bigger gun that is a "light machine gun" has awkward recoiling and doesn't do much damage even though it can hold 600 rounds. It looks like a giant handheld mini-gun.

Have you tried any of the Precision Rifles?

I forgot which one I have, though it might be the Militech M-179E Achilles.

That weapon has served me very well as my middle weapon through almost the entire game.
