I just returned my two unopened copies based on all of the negative info from the company about their game.

This might be the first game in which I’m not interested in side quests. It’s like I want to hurry up and finish the main game so I can leave this ugly game. The city just looks bland, lifeless, and depressing. There’s no real sense of direction or what’s happening. It’s sluggish and slow and just a burden to play.

Dalmain admonished me for it and asked me to stop, but I didn't, then he canceled the contract and I essentially "failed" the quest. I think I was only successful in bringing one of the cabs back to Dalmains HQ.

I had issues with that side quest as well.. The first car i had to recover wouldn't get destroyed no matter how many times i rammed it.. i get out and unload with my shotgun. The quest would not continue (Talk to Dalmain) i go to reload and the car is now upside down with no way to continue. I had to load another previous save and it finally worked.

The game has some cool areas of the city and then other areas with buildings with long, boring walls and nothing really to do. It is basically go in this alley and murder every criminal you see, rinse, and repeat. And all of the random crap pickups you can handle. Reminds me of the Fallout games set in a futuristic city. Even some of the assets look like Fallout stuff, or closely resemble it. At times I am wowed by some of the stuff I see and then I turn around and realize that the cookies were only half baked.

Thats a great look at it. Had this game not been hyped and developed by the Witcher developer, it would have snuck by and been rated a 5/10 or lower. What the hell have they been doing these past 8 years?

I asked for a refund, too. I can’t remember the last time I was so hyped for a game only to be let down.

This whole thing almost has a Duke Nukem Forever feel to it. Massive hype, extremely long development, and a disastrous end product. The only real difference I see is that when Duke finally did release people weren't expecting a tripe A game. The expectations were still there for this one. In the history of gaming has there ever been an offer of refunds for buying a game before?

I'm sure one of the historians here will have at least one example, but I can't think of one.

One funny bit about the refunds... the company decided to announce that without notifying retailers (digital or physical), so of course... they're not accepting refunds for digital or opened games. Playstation is playing hardball the most, saying that the game doesn't qualify as "faulty" because a patch is pending. Amazing.

Mine was digital through Xbox so I’m sure I’ll get denied, too.

This pile of crap has soured me on playing any other games honestly.

That sounds strangely familiar to me.

The game is quite a bit better on the pc now than it was on the demo from 2018. However, I still don't know what they were actually shooting for with the console versions in comparison to what we got. Despite the complaints about the game, I find myself strangely drawn back to playing it more and more.

Installed on ps5 and within minutes I've already encountered multiple items on the ground that you're supposed to be able to pick up and I can't. People shit all over Avengers for its bugs but CDPR gets a pass.

There must really be quite a difference between PC and console, as I have put in maybe 20 hours or so on PC and have only seen a "bug" in which there are 2 of the same character model on a crowded street. It is also absolutely gorgeous graphics-wise with all settings turned up. It's a shame that they went ahead and released it for the older consoles, as it clearly is not able to run well on the older hardware and graphics settings must be turned way down to achieve even a semi-"playable" framerate.

A pass? It seems like the entire gaming press is focused with laser like intensity on the flaws in this game.

This game is getting flogged like a three-legged dog escaping the henhouse for its console flaws. There is a fun game here under the musty layers and glitches. It is beautiful in some aspects and ugly in others. I like parts of the city but find others bland. Also, how many alleys and other areas are you just going to go in and dismantle foes while collecting 50 or more items? This is a hoarders dream game.

I'm about 28-hours in now and I think I've gotten to Act 3?

Spoiler:
I'm at the point of no return before meeting with Hanako Arasaka

Seeing a lot of playing cards around the map. Starting to think there was a planned Gwent like Card game that got scrapped. I googled and found out there was a CyberPunk Card game "Netrunner". Wouldve been cool to have or make the Arcade games playable :(

Just finished up the Main Story. Took me about 27.5 hours.

Spoiler:
Really enjoyed the finale but have mixed feelings about the Epilogue.

Going to take a short break from the game and then jump back in to do more Side Missions as well as find new gear.

Netrunner was fun - that would have been a great addition.

I've been digging the game on the PC so far. No huge complaints. I mean, yes, it's definitely lacking in location variety, but I've still been enjoying it. Looking forward to getting enough cash to get some of the pricier upgrades, like double jump.

I wish they would give us access to a flying car at some point or after the game is over. That seems to be a severely lacking piece for a game set in the future. Also, I do not like the forced first person driving.

My guess is textures at the top of buildings isn't complete. They would have to add a lot to make flying a thing.

Do you mean when you're in cars with other people? I agree about those parts.

When you are in a car by yourself it forces first person mode. Some missions pull back for third person, which is way better. Also, the travel guide updates changes too late for changes in direction.

Is that the case? I have stopped playing this for now, but i do remember going into settings as soon as i could to set it to third person when driving. And i recall this being fine when on my own in the car.

You can can change the camera perspective when driving alone.
