Fallout 3: GOTY or Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate
Which do you prefer?
I enjoy both of them immensely, and have easily put over a hundred hours in both of them.
What I like about FO3 is how desolate everything looks and how it looks like a post nuclear war event had happen here. I also enjoy the NPC Companions you can get, the ability to continue after the end of main storyline, love that the Brotherhood of Steel is a major force, and LOVE the soundtrack.
Now New Vegas is a different beast , While I enjoy how desolate FO3, I do enjoy seeing different kinds and styles of surroundings, Another thing I love about FO:NV is all the different factions/questlines you can have in FO:NV.
So which is your favorite?

Man, it's pretty tough to decide.
FO3 had a great main story. The side quests were mostly decent. A couple of the expansion packs were great, but a couple were kind of lame.
FO:NV had a main story that was way too short. The side quests were a ton of fun, though. The expansion packs were all pretty solid, if also kind of short.
So, I'd pick FO3 for the main story, but FO:NV for the extra stuff. Therefore... I liked them both equally.

Also let me just add that the MOD community have really extended the replayability of both of these games, just amazing.

I love Fallout 3, but New Vegas took everything good about that game and made it better, along with adding some new, much-needed features like the factions and loyalty system, multiple outcomes to the main story, hardcore difficulty, a significantly better companion system (and a much greater variety of options for companions), etc.

Yeah, I voted FO3 but I guess at the end FONV is the better game.
I just like FO3 more. I played more than 200 hours, including DLC, fell sleep playing the game, etc. I played more than 100 hours of FONV, but didn't play all the DLC, I think I got all the DLC, but I've just played two of them, the last one I really screwed up, "broke" the game, and decided to take a break from the game that has lasted a long time.
Oh yeah, I love these game, I even have FONV for the Xbox and PC, and have played both. I would probably get FO3 for the PC again when they announce FO4.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
Simply one of the best experiences I have ever had playing a game. I put over 100+ hours into it. Only about 70 in FONV. The ending is better than Vegas IMHO as well.

The next one is Boston correct? Should have gone with Chicago or somewhere in the middle so we can eventually one day connect all the fallout universe.

I went with Fallout 3, I found New Vegas a tad on the slow side to get going and didn't love it as much. Although I still prefer Fallout 1/2 over either of them.

Re: Fallout 3: GOTY or Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate
I have yet to play NV: Ultimate, because I'm cheap. But having played FO3: GOTY and New Vegas (regular), I have to give the edge to Fallout 3. Playing it for the 1st time was amazing- one of my all time favorite games. New Vegas was a little too short and I think I liked the look of Fallot 3 better. The expansions had some good weapons. I've put many many hour into both- probably 150 or so into Fallout 3 and 70 or so into New Vegas. The soundtrack to Fallout 3 is amazing- although I wish there were more songs- it'd be a nice feature to create your own playlist.

Fallout 3 for me. New Vegas just seems to be missing a bit of something I can't put my finger on. It is an amazing game, but I put 300 hours into Fallout 3 easy, and plan on playing again some day.
