Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I have a general question for those who played/are playing this. I know the game is rated M, but content-wise is it along the lines of the first 2 DA games? I have my PS4 at relatives' house, and I'm debating on whether to play this (when older kids will be around). I thought the first 2 games were pretty mild for content: fantasy gore/violence, PG-13 level sex and language.

I am about 25 hours into it on PS4 and I wouldn't worry about playing it in front of older kids. The fantasy violence is mostly just blood splatter ( compared to something like shadows of mordor where you see the beheadings or exploding heads, etc). I think I've only heard "shit" and "bastard" as far as language and they were few and far between.

You'll spend the first several hours making you character anyway, haha.

really? you must be much further in than i am, haha. The sidequests I have been wasting my time on are pretty tame! As for the main story

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

what level should you be to finish this game?
It seems to be a very long game. I've put in 40 hours and only at level 13.

Romance a couple of people. You'll see some cartoon pr0n.

How do you know how many hours you've played? My saves say like 482:16. I know I haven't played 500 hours. Is that number skewed because the Xbone goes into sleep mode when you turn it off? I mean the ability to instantly resume the game from the point you left.

Yup, If you don't quit all the way to the menu screen of DA:I the counter still rolls on. I had 24 hours in before even getting to the Hinterlands!

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I saw this on sale thru the Sony Store. I wanted to clarify the "co-op" part. It is NOT part of the main story and play-thru correct? If not then just how much it is part of?

Best Buy has AC:Unity up for sale but I'm almost at the point this game seems to be cursed with issues and bugs and I've almost gave up on wanting to get this mainly for the co-op part. Just not sure I want another single player dedicated game since I still have The Last of Us and Far Cry 4 to finish.

Multiplayer is completely separate. It's essentially a stand-alone game.

yeah, I haven't bought anything or upgraded anything or crafted anything or added runes to anything, etc because they all seem to give very minimal improvements whereas loot from enemies results in much better weapons/armor.

So I have spent no money and no crafting except once or twice to complete the mission or get the trophy.

I am about 38 hours in and level 15. I think the next main story mission was recommended level 15-18 so I will probably be doing some more sidequests first.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I remember why I don't like Bioware games. I've been wearing my spacebar out! So much talking and cut scenes and loading screens.

Oh well, back to Shadows of Mordor.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Yeah I mean the best thing about Bioware games are their stories and characters so if that doesn't do it for you then stop buying their games because they're not for you.

I don't know how people can skip cut scenes.

If the game is written by Hideo Kojima, skipping mid hour-long cutscene is understandable. For an RPG, not so much.

I enjoyed Dragon Age Origins, and of course all the classic Bioware games (Neverwinter, Baldur's, etc etc). And Inquisition was highly rated so I gave it a go.

Because I want to play the game, not watch a movie?
That and I can read the subtitles faster than the scene is acted out.

I guess I'm more a Bethesda kinda guy.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

now i'm stuck at the boss battle (aspect of nightmare) in the quest Here Lies the Abyss. I'm level 15 so thought i could breeze thru this. But the boss battle is giving me a hard time and I keep dying. Any hints? I have a tendency to just control my char (mage) and don't micromanage the other 3 chars. I guess that is my problem?

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

also i can never get the ressurect spell to work (I'm playing the xbox360 version). I click on the char to ressurect but my char never casts it. is this a known bug?

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I'm not sure about a resurrect spell but if a character dies, you can run up to them and hold X (or whatever the 360 button is) to revive them. You have to hold the button though.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

i've found a bunch of these amulet of power that can only be used by certain characters. after you equip it, it is supposed to give you an extra skill point. so how does it work? After equiping it, I went to the character screen to see how I can add an extra skill point, but nothing shows up. what are you supposed to do after equipping it?
