Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
It's not really scary, but an ideal game for Halloween is Costume Quest.

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
Alan wake was great. Dead space 2 was good, not great. if you want a great atmospheric story, alan wake is the way to go. unless you want all the collectibles. then it sucks.
i hate being an achievement whore |

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
I picked up Dead Space 2 a couple weeks ago for $10 ($5 TRU coupon, score!) and dived in the other day. I am FREAKED. OUT. My wife is having such a great time watching me scream like a little girl at necromorphs jumping on me and, yeah, steam shooting out of pipes.
I don't play scary games so this is new and pretty fun! |
Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
The second Condemned game is shit.....the first one is THE shit. I will NEVER forget the time I spent playing the first game.

I loved the first one, but Condemned 2 sucks.
I also would only play it at noon with all the doors and windows open. I couldn't get past the tenth minute of the second one. Something was missing, or too much was added. |
Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
Like others have said.....Alan Wake. If you let that game take you in...even with its flaws....you'll always come back for more.
And hands down, without question one of the most fun games ever....Rockstar's Undead Nightmare. |
Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
Condemned 1 is the scariest game I have ever played. I didn't even finish it. It was so unnerving and made me nauseous when I played. That is the only game that I have had issues with

Re: Lets Play Something Scary.
I've been playing the Silent Hill HD Collection on 360, and I must say that Silent Hill 2 lived up to all the hype I'd heard over the years. That game is a masterpiece of horror, and absolutely terrifying the first time through. (Side note: it took me about a week, but I managed to run through it enough times to see all the endings and then get a 10-star ranking on my final run, probably one of the most difficult gaming achievements I've ever earned.)
I've now moved on to Silent Hill 3, which is disappointing to say the least after 2, but it does have its share of creepiness and horror. I really wish the collection had included the first game as well. |

Just want to say thanks for the recommendation. I had never heard of this and have played the two first parts so far and intend on playing the other two parts. It's one of the best games I have played on the indie side of the Xbox (though to be honest, I haven't played a ton of them) and it has been very enjoyable. I really like the score.
The 4th game was a bit of a letdown, but overall a great set of game, especially for those that like the classic point and click adventure games... |
