Looks like the voting changes every 8 hours. The message on the page after you vote, says "When the voting period ends, we'll tally all the choices made by the Steam Community. The deal picked first overall will go on sale as The Community's Choice!"

Currently there is about 3 1/2 hours left to vote on the current choices.

Oh, the Walking Dead game is 25% off so it's $18.74 as part of the Telltale Pack sale. I highly recommend it.

Remember the cardinal rule of Steam sales: unless it's being offered as a daily deal, always wait until the last day before buying a game.

I thought reddit was going to self-implode when this went up.

Also Sniper Elite V2 is $14.99 for a few more days at Amazon (Steam key). I doubt the Steam sale will be any better than this. The demo was pretty damn fun.

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd

Saints Row 3 won the community poll: game is now $12.50, or $24.99 for the game plus all DLC.

Next poll: Limbo, Magicka or Trine 2 (each 75% off).

I have SR3 on the Xbox, but never picked up the DLC; will probably be taking part in this deal.

One more purchase before I go to bed, as Trine 2 won the poll; game is now $3.75 for the next 7 and a half hours. Next choices are: Brink (75% off), Stronghold 3 (Gold) (66% off) or Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (75% off).

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd

I loop this on my second monitor while watching the day's deals.

I still say Steam fans are the best fans. As far as I go in this sale... nothing for me today. I've got plenty of stuff earmarked for during the sale though. I almost went for the Saints Row 3 community pick $12.49 but CAG is saying it will be even cheaper at Amazon next week (and it's Steamplay, so no worries there)

is the Binding of Isaac any good? Looks like something you'd want a controller for... does it work ok with mouse and keyboard?

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd

Picked up Sonic Generations... missed it the last time it was on sale. Also picked up the DLC, as that is $0.53, so why the hell not?

I'd pick up Max Payne 3, but I really don't want it for PC just for the reason that it takes up THIRTY-FIVE (35) GIGABYTES. That's a bit... excessive.

Been hearing mixed things about Binding of Isaac... people seem to either adore it or hate it. Reminders: all of yesterday's dailies are available as well until midnight.

It's a super difficult game - a mix between roguelikes and the original Legend of Zelda, only much grosser. It plays fine with just the keyboard, but you can use some third-party software to map the controls to a controller. I've only ever played it with the keyboard, so I can't comment on the controller aspect beyond that. The game itself is really good in my opinion. For $1.24, I think it's pretty easy to recommend.

Holy crap, I didn't realize it was that big.* I was looking at getting it on PC too, maybe I should wait for a cheap 360 deal.

*That's what she said.

Picked up Payday from a 4 pack ($3.74 each), and From Dust. I'd get MP3 at $24.99, but that's my limit. I'm thinking about Anno 2070, since I really enjoyed the last one.

BTW if you want Anno 2070, buy the Collection for the same price, so it's 66% off.

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd

If anyone's still up, there's a particularly good flash deal that's good until 8AM: Alan Wake for $7.49, or $9.99 for the collector's edition version of the game plus American Nightmare.

Also, the current community poll choice is Bioshock 2, at $4.99. Next poll choices are Super Meat Boy and two other games that don't stand a chance, Q.U.B.E. and Plants vs. Zombies: GOTY Edition, each at 75% off.

Anyone considering Plants vs. Zombies might want to know that it is NOT the HD version that the consoles got. It runs in 800x600.

Any thoughts about Two Worlds II? And is the Velvet version worth the extra $2.50
