Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd
I have Plants vs. Zombie in my cart. I don't know if I should spend another $2.49 on it despite already owning it on the iPhone and iPad.
Is Dead Island worth $10? If so, should I spring for the DLC too at 66% off?
BAH. Left 4 Dead 2 is the next flash sale. I purchased it for $3 during its launch on OS X.
I wanted Half Life 2 damnit as that's the only Valve game I don't have a license for on Steam!

Half Life 2? I've had an extra copy on Steam for years, I can gift it to you if you want to PM me your email address.

Microsoft needs to have sales this good. Best they usually do is 50% off. And those are very limited titles when they do go on sale.

There's a Batman franchise flash deal that's available from now until 10AM PST: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, Gotham City Imposters, plus all DLC for the latter two, at $24.99, a discount of 82% (individual titles are 66% off).

Man, I have been going crazy with this.
I just bought the Total War Collection. It wasn't even very expensive to begin with, but I got it for $29. That's every total war game except for the Shogun titles! Crazy. I now have five separate campaigns going on in five different games.
I finally moved my Steam install of my SSD to the secondary hard drive. Now I have tons of storage so I have been downloading lots. I'll probably go over my internet cap this month...

Ok, I'm annoyed ... new steam sale today, and I only get 8 games on sale, not 9, with a message saying the 9th game is not available in my region! What the junk?
This is the US friggin A! We are THE region!

Same thing happened to me the other day. I think it's just a temporary error. When I checked back later in the day I saw each of the games available for the sale.

I hope the Left 4 Dead community isn't completely dead. I just purchased that. I had the game on the 360 when it was released and played the hell out of it. I got rid of it when L4D2 was released. Well turns out L4D2 wasn't as good and I have regretted selling the first one.
Like I have said before, I am no PC gamer so I haven't taken part in the Steam stuff before. Holy crap they have some good deals everyday. Some people could really get into trouble. There has been like 10 games I have wanted to buy.

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd
I've only bought a couple of things. I've been trying not to buy too much, since I'm trying to save money, and I have a pile of games from other sales that I haven't played yet.

I've only purchased this year:
Amnesia: The Dark Descent ($4.99)
Grand Theft Auto: The Complete Collection ($12.99; includes GTA, GTA2, GTA3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTAIV and all its DLC).
Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition ($2.49)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ($2.49)
It averages about to $2.55 a game, can't beat that!
I'm still trying to determine if I want to purchase Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas ($14.99 gets you both games and all of the DLC) and Dead Island now that it's a flash sale again.

Re: Steam Summer Sale - July 12th - 22nd
I did just pick up Dead Island, since it's a flash sale. New Vegas is a game I picked up during a previous sale, that I still haven't played. It's sitting in my ever expanding Steam pile of shame. Whenever I start to catch up, I end up buying more crap on sale.

I was actually inspired to build a PC because of this sale. Tired of not being able to participate. Haven't had a PC for gaming in about 8 years so it was a bit of an adjustment but I'm all good to go.
So far I picked up:
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Limbo
2K Collection: Borderlands, Spec Ops The Line, Duke Nukem Forever, Mafia 2, Darkness II, Civilization 5
Darksiders
Grand Theft Auto IV Complete Collection
All for about $79 total. Got plenty to keep my occupied now!

Anyone want to chime in on SC: Conviction? After a couple of rocky opening stages, I loved Chaos Theory--which is odd because I normally dislike stealth games--and thought Double Agent was somewhat disappointing (and fairly short, to boot).
EDIT: Nevermind, remembered that Conviction has the "constant internet connection required" DRM bullshit. I'll pass, regardless of price.

SC: Conviction is awesome. It's completely unlike any of the other SC games, but that's not a bad thing. It's just a great action game. The UBI constant connection DRM has been patched out. You just a one time verification. Also, not much use in getting the Deluxe Edition. You can unlock the Infiltration mode with UPlay points you get from playing the game.
