I believe the PP gets the statue, while the SE gets the art book.
I think I'm going to sell the PP as it will pay for the regular version. |

Thanks. I'd rather have an art book so I'm glad I went for the SE.
The steelbook is probably the only thing I really want. |

Caved in and picked it up at Best Buy. Only a few copies left on the display. Guess i'll spend all weekend playing. :)
It's funny, after buying a PS3 on Black Friday, I've only really played Naughty Dog games (and a little bit of God of War 3) |
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
I guess I'm kind of surprised at all the love and high praise this game is getting
I'm about 4 hours in and this game is doing nothing for me enemy AI and detection is horrible Spoiler:
the game feels like it's more on rails than Uncharted did the gameplay is overly repetitive and I'm not as impressed with the graphics as others seem to be I'll keep going on but at this point I'm certainly glad I rented instead of deciding to purchase ps. we get it ND, you have mastered the art of someone grabbing another's hand and pulling them up from below .... please retire this move from your arsenal ... it's now getting stale |
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
I've only played an hour or so, so my judgement is based off that. I find it hard to believe anything could be more on rails than Uncharted.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
Jesus Christ. Now that's how you start a game. I was nearly in tears before the title screen came up.
|
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
Ok, I'm out of this thread till I play the game! I don't want to see any spoilers, so best I play it safe.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
What's up with the crazy loading times? Felt like five minutes to start the game up
|
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
That's just PS3. Terrible loading times even with installed games.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
Ellie's own words pretty much sum up this gaming experience for me
Spoiler:
there have been a couple decent moments since my critique of the first approx. 4 hours but this game still suffers from repetition and repetition of stuff that has been done better in other games ultimately it comes down to how much one cares about the characters/the story and what happens to them .... whereas I was engrossed with the characters Nathan Drake, Sully, Elena, etc .... I don't have the slightest connection or care for the characters or their antagonists in TLOU at this point it is just a slog to get to the end |

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
The start of the game was fantastic, but now i'm about 5 hours in (according to my last saved game) and nothing has really lived up to that initial moment. Not that i'd call it bad or boring by any means... it's just been pretty generic survival-horror type stuff, and while i'm interested in the plot and the infection, none of the characters have really grabbed me yet this far in.
|
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
Yup. It kind of reminds me of Pixar's Up - perfect execution and emotional fireworks in the first 20 minutes then go generic.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
I'm 8 hours in and still liking it a lot. When I heard the similarities to The Road i figured we'd get some flashbacks throughout.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
fuck the clickers....fuck the clickers...
|
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
ok, this game's control scheme is absurd. i sneak up on clickers, hit triangle and it does nothing. then they turn around and kill me. what a load of shit. the controls are really taking me out of this game.
|
re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
You have to make sure they aren't already turning and you have to be directly behind them. You can't make a noise in the last few seconds before pressing triangle on them. For instance if you come accross ones with their backs against the walls you can never sneak up on them only distract or kill.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
Finished it today. Enjoyed Tomb Raider a lot more.

re: The Last of Us (PS3 and PS4)
I really dig the story. As someone said, it's like The Road with some zombie things. I am impressed as hell with the graphics. Some of the draw distances like when you are in Pittsburgh is insane. I think the controls are horrid, partially because I hate the PS3 controller so much.
