So a 2 year old needs a ball and book, while an 8 year old can't wait to kill people. pot, meet kettle.

Some kids CAN discern the difference between fantasy and reality. (Shocking, I know.) |

Really? That my son plays COD with me for an hour or so a couple times a week means he's plotting to take out his classmates with claymores and across-the-map headshots? So out of touch.

What I'm saying is that you giving Deftones shit for thinking of a Kinect for his son shouldn't have really been your concern, given the fact you play games with your 8 year old for a couple of hours a week. No where did I reference fact vs fiction, so that sounds like some additional baggage of your own.
At what point did I give him shit? Was giving him some feedback as a fellow parent. No less worthwhile than this anyway:

Nothing I said in this thread was even remotely negative.) |

I didn't come here for parenting advice. I came here for suggestions about if it would be suitable for a 2 year old.
But in all seriousness, I don't have any kids, but I do have plenty of friends with them and a couple of nephews. I introduced the Wii to a friend's son. The kid was probably 3, maybe just turned 4, at the time. Anyway, he had a blast with playing bowling and those types of games, but he was still having a lot of control issues and needed a lot of help. So, based on my experiences, I'd say he's still a bit too young at 2 to really be able to play it. Another year or so would probably be best, but you certainly know your kiddo better than we do. |

Just starting to set up my Kinect and read the note that minimum player height is 40 inches and thought of this thread

 There you go. Reading for the win.
My 5 year old is tiny, so that explains it. |
Re: Any reason a 2 year old couldn't play Kinect?
I have the kinect hooked up to the xbox in my room...and I can't keep my teenagers out of my bedroom....I bet if I bought them each one for their rooms they would never play it...
